Peak Park (formerly Newmilns Snowsports) — Attraction in Scotland

Went with my two friends to an open slope night and i haven’t skied before so wasn't allowed on the slope. However, my two friends who have skied before were allowed. One of the staff members was sceptical and wasn't sure if she believed they had skied. They were both given two chances to go down and show they could be in control. One of them was a bit rusty and gave up and didn’t attempt to even go up the second time so came off on his own knowing it wasn’t safe for himself and the other skiers. Although my other friend who is an experienced skier went down the slope two times really well in control not too fast or slow to endanger anyone else or himself. The staff member unfortunately wasn’t satisfied with his ability which i didn’t deem fair at all. The staff member warned them that there would be no refunds if they had to take them off the slope but didn’t treat my experienced friend fair at all. He clearly proved he could ski well enough to not harm anyone or himself but, because they made a judgement as they saw three teenage boys walk into their complex he was unfairly treated. Not allowed to ski and then not refunded after being unjustly taken off the slope. I wasn’t bothered about going back anyway as i can’t ski but he was not happy and said he would not...

Went tubing with my 3 year old son however it’s a lot more safety centric than it used to be when I took my daughter years ago to the same place and not in a good way. My son wanted to go in my tube but they don’t allow it and instead make the kids go in a separate one which he was scared to do and I have to go down in a seperate tub at the same time and hold on to his. An adult also has to go down every time with them as well which is a bit of a pain if my son did gain confidence or if he was slightly older, it’s not until they are 6 that they can go down themselves.

They also have a staff member stand beside you the whole session which I don’t think is required, whereas previously it was a lot more just go with the flow.

Overall we paid for the 50 minutes but only stayed for about 7 minutes for a cost of £23 since my son didn’t want to go down himself. There are far too many rules for such a basic thing of going down a...

On first impressions this place doesn’t look up to much, but please don’t let that put you off.

Whilst it may not look as pretty as some of it’s competitors, it has an excellent range of services and equipment; you can literally turn up with nothing but a warm jacket and be kitted up for a session.

The facilities are fairly basic, but provide all that you need. The prices are extremely reasonable.

However what sets this place apart is the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The personal service, you receive. But most of all it is the patient, professional, super talented instructors whom I cannot praise highly enough.
