The Riverside Inn — Restaurant in Scotland

Tried for the first time as I have heard great reviews. Well our first visit was Sunday only thing on was a roast dinner. The dinner took about 40 minutes so the chef gave us free soup to pass the time very nice jesture. I wish we had left after that. The roast dinner arrived on ice cold ❄️ plates and was not surprisingly stone cold. The roast beef was nice but very disappointed with the whole experience I wish I had taken a picture because words wouldn’t do justice. The young lady told us it was a new chef and he hadn’t really started yet well they should have shut the restaurant until he figured out how to turn on the cooker. Dreadful ‼️ What's happened???‼️ We've been before and it's been ok. Went here for lunch today. 1 persons sauce in macaroni had split... inedible ‼️ 2nd persons meat in steak pie hard as rocks, again inedible ‼️ 3rd persons scampi dry. 4th persons fish & chips... (fish nice) Everyone's chips were cold and hard‼️ 1 dessert ...sticky toffy pud was hard in the middle. I've been going to the riverside for over 20 years, under a number of different owners and it has always been a cracking wee pub. For now, (January 2023) the staff are friendly and well natured. The clientele seems decent and there is pretty much no bother caused by anyone.
