As a visiting Birdwatcher this is quite possibly the worst RSPB reserve I've visited. There is a vague Information board placed next to the Corrimony Cairn car-park. The actual reserve is over half a mile away but u'd never guess it from the useless directions. An allegedly way-marked trail starts further along the road but its very easy to miss as its a tiny arrow on a stump. The reserve seems to consist of an uphill track for a mile and a half which then peters into nothing leaving you with an equally dull return along the same track. It would be fair to say that the reserve is for the benefit of the birds not the birdwatcher. This wouldn't be so bad if there were birds to see !! Black Grouse are the target species but without local info. the chances of finding them are slim. The place needs active management as even the RSPB website will give you a Postcode for the Nearby Village and not the reserve. Dunno...
