We wandered through the grounds first — a mix of ancient gravestones, wildflowers, and soft sea air — before stepping inside to admire the stonework and the sense of stillness that fills the space. Built in the 1400s for the powerful Seton family, it’s steeped in history, but never feels crowded or over-visited.
It’s easy to imagine the centuries of stories held within its walls, and the staff were lovely, happy to share details about the architecture and the restoration work.

Once through the gate you are in a walled precinct with well kept lawn and different individual trees surrounding the church. As others have noted plenty of different birds flit around in the trees and by the dry burn side. The church itself has some interesting displays inside including an old bell and inscriptions.
