This chapel and graveyard was more inspiring than the Abbey in my opinion. The oldest structure on the island is just amazing when you think of all the weather conditions it faces. To think that Kings of Scotland lie here in this graveyard is beyond comprehension. The simplicity inside the chapel, yet the amazing carving of the mural tomb recess is awesome

This was my favorite place on Iona. It was so peaceful and the energy was so wonderful. The bees buzzing in the trees (which you could not see) made a gorgeous humming sound that sounded like Om. It was lovely.

Amazing experience to have visited the burial ground of so many Scottish Kings. Lovely historical nunnery and Abbey to visit, the Abbey was actually shut on our visit ☹.

This ancient chapel is outstanding in its beautiful simplicity, in its deep peacefulness, in its holiness. I am not at all religious, but in these small walls a tangible sense of the holy has been created through purity and truth, shunning any ornate lavish materialism in favour of the unadorned spiritual. Much, much more impressive than the adjacent abbey, and for me, the only place where the famed sanctity of Iona was...
