The Gloup has it's own car park and from there you can walk along the coast to Mull Head. It is on Deerness which is east mainland, but everywhere on mainland Orkney is in easy driving distance. It is worth checking the route before you go as a small section is closed. You can do a circular walk and return to car park, or just retrace your steps. The views are fantastic but you can say that about most of the island. If you are thirsty there is an honesty box with supplies. If you do not wish to do the whole route it is a short walk to the Gloup. We were lucky on the day we visited to see an Orca pod so it is worth checking online before you go.

A real hidden gem of a place to walk. I would walk the circular walk clockwise when I do it again as the path becomes a bit vague on the way back to. Did a few wrong turns. Some really amazing views and some lovely little sheltered spots to sit with a flask and snacks for a while. Well worth a few stops just to take it all in. Loads of wildlife. I reckon some of the rockier parts near the cliff tops and shore would need some care in wet and windy weather although I was very lucky and got a sun tan.....

Very Interesting place, it's a natural phenomenon that has occurred in the ground, however its spectacular to see! There is a Visitors Centre across the road from the Car park entrance to the short walk to the Gloup. There maybe more information in the Visitors Centre but we didn't go in it. Besides the Fascinating Gloup, the scenery along the cliff edge is amazing. Yes there is a path down to the Gloup, however it is not wheelchair accessible. If you do have mobility issues and can walk, take your time as it's well...
