The parking fees aren't great but what can you do, additionally the descent to what I believe is known as "blast beach" (I could be wrong) is nothing more than a steep and uneven dirt track which crumbles beneath your very feet if you aren't careful. Why there aren't proper usable steps here I have no idea. There are steps if you go the long way round, but unless you wish you backtrack on yourself, and would rather do a circular walk, then you're doomed to use this dirt path of certain misery. I jest, it's not dangerous per se but it's certainly not user friendly and you will be out of breath by the time you have ascended. These two complaints are why I deducted two stars from what is otherwise a pleasant beach. I've never seen it packed, and of you're lucky you might just see some seals on the beach front as we did in our most recent trip, I shall attach photos.

The beach itself is mostly litter free, a mix of pebbles stones and sand, popular for dog walks and hang outs. It's my beach of choice for seaham...

This is a beautiful place to go. If you're needing a wheelchair you will not be able to get down to the beach, but it is a great place for views. I am disabled, but I am able to walk and take it steady. There is an extremely steep hill that you can walk down, but please don't do this when the weather is bad. If you don't want to go down the steep hill, then follow the signs on the right hand side for Durham coastal path, it is about a 20 minute walk or so, stunning views, you will eventually get to a load of stepping stones that will take you down to blast beach. Blast beach is connected to Noses Point. I really enjoyed it here, but I would not do this if my health was...

Love going for a walk around this area. Even if it's just along the top it's always a lovely scenic peaceful walk. Further along there's the coastal paths and it is always a beautiful and peaceful walk with lots of sounds from the wildlife and the sea. There's also the blast beach which at low tide you can access Hawthorn or the chemical beach but always check the timetables before considering this. Our family love going out for an afternoon around here. It was also a fantastic location to view the Super blue moon the other night, great location for astrophotography as well due to low...

Really nice place that walk. Steep hill or steps down and obviously the same to get back up.
