This beach is a huge sandy beach with rock pools to explore. There are public toilets, a childs play park a very reasonably priced cafe called Pudding Lane and up the hill is an icecream parlour. There are plenty of seats on a grassed area overlooking the sea and the Isle of Man directly ahead. There is a well stocked convenience store and the car park for the beach is free. The beach is also dog friendly. The only blot on the landscape is Sellafield but that's...

The car park is free, the play park is free, the beach is free, the sea is free, the electricity from Sellafield is free, the whole world is free. Wild, windswept and unkempt, but that's enough about your hair after an hour on the beach!!! Just go and enjoy yourselves. It won't cost anything and you might be thrown back to when life was simple and carefree. Disclaimer: not all the...

Always love coming here at low tide for the huge expanse of beach. Mostly sandy with large rocks dotted around which the dogs love to poke around in. You can walk back along the coastal path for a change, beautiful in late summer with dog roses. Free parking with a donation box. Looks like there is a relatively new fish and chip shop bit it wasn't open when I last went.
