A centuries old area of woodland and wetland , that has foopath's snaking throughout its interior, some are left over from its role of being a RAF base during WW2 along with remnants of buildings ( a few signs describing its former use). Ancient breeds of cattle and sheep graze in places , I have in the past seen a herd of fallow deer , adders and grass snakes, but not on this visit. The common is popular with dog walkers and families, twitchers and nature lovers . Flora and fauna and streams run throughout ,it's a haven for wild life and a place to chill out. There are a few picnic benches around but these are becoming dilapidated. It's free to enter and roam and you could spend a whole day here. Car parking is also free and there are two car parks on the Skipwith side of the common and one at the Riccall side ( King Rudding Lane). I am very fortunate to live within walking distance of the common and visit it at different times of the year and I am never disappointed If you feel like a stroll or a longer walk in the midst of nature then this is the place. I Highly Recommend...

Spoil it for others. But a great place to...
