Extremely upsetting episode one recent weekend with an out of control dog with no owner in sight harassing, barking at, and jumping up at my children who were trying to catch falling autumn leaves. The dog came from nowhere, started barking angrily and could have seriously injured them if I had not thought to distract it with a stick. The children were in floods of tears immediately and extremely distressed for several days. I feel I cannot safely take them back. A huge, huge shame, as it is beautiful here all year round. So many other reviews say it is a great place for kids, but please consider this experience before you go and be aware of the...

I thought I had already done a review of this place. OK, here goes again. This place is lovely. A good example of how we can view nature and still let nature do its thing. There is too much eye candy in most places visited these days. Although they have their own beauty, this place, like most other wildlife trust places have a great balance of letting nature do what it does best and allowing us a safe environment to still enjoy its true beauty. This place is also a good place to study and practice navigation skills by the tree layouts, etc. Parking is also free across the road from...

It was OK - ofc it's no Galloway. Alsmost marshy after rains so use proper boots. Some paths are more slippery. You will just be walking peacefully among tall trees, which I guess is what all one should be looking for when visiting this place and for that it's good. Road outside widens a bit for about 40 metres stretch or so to allow some parking in an otherwise national speed limit road. We were lucky as it had rained so not many there, but i doubt you will always find a spot - so plan accordingly. Bikes are not alloowed inside (except maybe if you are...

This is a small wooded area located to the south of Cambridge. As the name suggests, it's mainly consists of Beech trees. it is quite small and it would be difficult to make a walk longer than about 2 km. I visited the woods in Autumn (Fall) when the trees were in full colour and lots of brown crispy leaves on the ground. It was quite lovely and I enjoyed my visit. If you live near Cambridge it is worth a visit; however because of its small size it's not worth a longer trip. Hopefully my photos will give you an impression of what it's like in the Autumn.

We love this beautiful tall woodland. The paths are winding and mostly clear so the kids can explore and there are some nice open clearings where you can have a picnic. Lots of dog walkers and people out enjoying nature. Parking is in a small layby on the side of the road, can be busy and there isn't anywhere else nearby so having a backup plan is recommended. A really special place if you do get the chance to visit.
