A lovely day out sampling beers, ciders and wines at the Thames Valley Wine and Food festival. Today (23/6/24) is the last festival day. Its not a large event, which has its plus points (ability to find seating, parking is good, stalls are not busy etc). The brass band that played most of the time was fitting for this venue. I think music blaring out of a PA system would have spoilt the event.
Next time, I will take the train (Didcot train station is not that far away) as the wine sampling was left to my wife (she did not shy away from this task!). However, that did not spoil my day and nor did it stop me from purchasing some alcoholic drinks on sale to sample later! We also bought some chilli plants at the venue which we hope will provide some tasty (and very hot) produce in the near future!
Would love to visit again, so will put this down as a reminder...

Read morePleasant vineyard run by a husband-wife team. If you're going for the tour, bear in mind that it's not just wine information and it's not that professionally slick. There's a lot of extraneous info about the local history and nature, and a fair bit of moaning about the weather, other vineyards, etc. A pleasant enough day out, however, and the tasting is nice though the wines are mediocre...
