5 stars from my Son, 3.5 stars from the adults.

Sunday 30th June 2024, visited Stonor Park , Tumblestone Hollow with my wife and 3 year old son. The ticket prices are reasonable even if you’re not going to run around climb and slide with the kids, £36 odd for 3 of us, not the end of the world plus free parking.

First impressions of the Visitor Centre, staff very friendly and helpful and they deserve 5* and are a credit to Stonor Park. The facilities are small, hot drinks snacks gift shop, rolled into one but since you’re not going to spend any time other than scanning in, it’s fine.

Tumblestone Hollow, has 3 slides, various climbing frames activities, sand pits water pumps, etc. enough for a young child to spend 4 hours in running themselves and you ragged, older children 10 to 12 might get bored after 2 hours unless they have friends to keep them motivated.

My Son had a great time enjoyed every moment of the 4hrs we spent there running jumping sliding, crawling, through the various activities, even ones that were meant for older children. He persevered and loved his accomplishments regardless of how many attempts it took.

My Wife and me also had a great time because he did, however there is a distinct lack of seating especially around the sand pit area, some of the benches around the outskirts of the climbing frame or wooden forts are bit far to keep an eye on the kids and sit and relax as well especially if you have a physical disability of some kind.

The food is limited in selection especially for a vegetarian (veggie, not vegan, and that’s my wife) but what was available was of good quality which reflected in the price. I dont mind paying £8 for a high quality burger or £11 to £15 for a great pizza but £5 for fries is a bit much. Aside from this the wait to order your food and receive it can be a bit long especially as the burger wagon also sells ice cream. Don’t need to stand around like a lemon though waiting for the food as they give you pager which still buzzes a good distance away from the wagon, I was at the far end as far as you could get when it went off.

Didn’t visit the rest of the Park, or walk the trails etc this time around as our Son was knackered, but still had enough energy to thank the Young Lady in the Visitor Centre and say bye to her before he fell asleep in the car 1 min later.

Would we come again? Yes a couple times a year during good dry weather. If it rains...

Reviewing our visit to Tumblestone Hollow.

I don't really review things often but given what a great time we had I thought I should.

I was apprehensive initially, taking my 3yo (younger end of 3) I wasn't sure how much she would be able to access, and if I'd be able to follow her around. Also having read reviews I wasn't sure if their cafe/food stalls would be open. I think we benefit from being in the summer, not sure if these things would be closed in quieter times.

I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. We arrived, picked up our copy of the book of the legend and read it with a snack before heading in. She had fun spotting the characters and identifying the stones around the maple tree. After spending a bit of time in the littler playground area (she loves a swing) we headed into the proper adventure trail. Wow. It kept me on my toes and was a real work out but both my average height 3yo and my overweight self managed to climb around/up/slide down almost the entire thing. She was not quite tall enough for the balance beams/climbing logs at the very edge but other than that she did everything. The zip wire and slides were great, we also liked the rope tunnels and climbing walls. My bab also loves a fireman's pole and it was just the right size for her to reach and me to make sure she didn't fall.

The cafe was open but there were also little vans selling drinks and snacks (and fresh pizzas!) I was appreciative of the coffee, and also to ba able to feed my little with food I brought from home, at a picnic table sheltered by a big tent canopy. Then we returned to the smaller area for some epic sand-waterpump-dam-river play. There were a few primary schools visiting and she helped some 7 and 8 year olds build an epic river around the sand pit. There were also smaller ones playing here, theres a little climbing frame slide some swings etc. It was such a lovely atmosphere and accessible for so many ages, literally no-one was bored.

Honestly, if I'd had the energy we could have stayed the entire day. As it was we were thoroughly entertained for over 4 hours. I will definitely be coming again and have recommended it to literally all the...

Myself with 2 kids (age 3 and 5) and a friend with kids (age 2, 3 and 6) visited this park on a wet day. We geered up with some wellies and enjoyed this place very much. The park is beautiful and although I was not impressed with having to pay for the entry initially, I thought it was fair in the end. It is worth it. The kids had lots of fun. The toilets were reasonably clean despite the muddy weather and enough space for you to go in with 3 kids. The huge Fort is in some areas for bigger kids, but generally speaking, for the ages we had (even the littlest one) this was OK. They managed to walk through all of it and go through all the obstacles etc, with some support in some areas. The slides are amazing and super fun. I would say that if you have more than 1 kid, best going with extra eyes! They do tend to suddenly disappear as this thing is huge. There is a smaller area of the park for younger kids too and there is a sand Pitt with water area. Really nice but do consider that when thinking what to wear! There is a nice big tent covered area to sit and have some rest away of the rain. This was crowded but OK. There is. A pizza kiosk in there. The pizza was awesome and very fast service. They give you a buzzer so you can carry on playing or doing whatever instead of just standing there waiting. When the pizza is ready, the buzzer goes off and you go collect your pizza. Really cool. We took some picnic there too and spent the whole day in there. The gifts shop is cute, reasonably priced gifts and the illustrated books of the park is beautiful with nice little magical story. We purchased that and the kids enjoyed it. I would definitly...

Went along to SuperCar Sunday on 4th July 2021, felt disappointed with organisers and we didn't stay long. First irritant was the 2.5 mile queue up a village lane that must have delighted locals almost as much as the many ticket holders anxious to get in and park up. Long queues continued to be the theme as the minimalist assortment of porta-loos at the entrance were also well used with length wait; the only loo block we could find on the event site. Long queues also at the food stalls, ALL of which were suffering from total absence of network coverage thus could not function with card payments. Organisers TAKE NOTE!!! Imagine queuing for a pie for 30 mins and then not being able to pay; exactly what happened to many many folks used to no cash proceedings these days. The scheduled 1300 parade didn't happen as the cars couldn't be located. We got round most of exhibition within an hour then with food situation we made for the exit. Mercifully it was far easier to leave than it was to arrive. Would not recommend to others and feel aggrieved having paid and travelled from London for this day out and having not been to an 'event' for over a year! 😣

We visited Stonor Park today, I have seen the sign since my daughter moved to Watlington and have been so looking forward to going. The surrounding grounds are lovely But the actual place was more disappointing than I could begin to say. When we looked at it online, it looked beautiful, but in reality, it was underwhelming. We walked around the garden in 10 mins and thought we would go to the pantry for coffee and cake as we had spent £13 plus a £1.60 booking fee to get into the park but on arrival at the pantry the door was locked. We saw the then walked to the chapel, followed the signs, and sadly, the door was locked It should tell you online that you have to take your own picnic/flask if you want a hot drink. Sadly, we felt cheated 😔 On a bank holiday weekend, you would think the chapel and pantry would be open. So we could have sat and at least had a coffee before our 1 hour 30 min journey home. Sadly, for me, it's not worth the money.

I can't rate Tumblestone Hollow highly enough. What an epic playground for children to run as wild as their imaginations. My timid 4yr old warmed very quickly to the zipline and large slides although he struggled with some of the rope climbs and balance logs which means we'll absolutely have to return when he's older. Unlike most other children's play areas the food is not just decent but genuinely good. Delicious crispy pizza with such a lovely flavourful dough and quality toppings. I'd come back just for the pizza... We came on a Saturday with restricted numbers as a result of reopening post-covid so we had no issues with crowds or waiting for pizza. Toilet facilities were also surprisingly clean and very well maintained. The adjoining gardens were beautiful too with the wonderful scent of roses and fruit trees throughout.
