While it was a lovely play area for children, it is not wheelchair accessible despite allowing the purchase of a carer ticket with a wheelchair user and stating on their website that there is "uneven ground" and some "challenging manoeuvring", making it seem like it is difficult but possible for wheelchairs and that was definitely not our experience. We could not push my disabled mother along the stone path and the hills were too steep. Unless the wheelchair user is a 4x4 mobility scooter, I don't believe it is possible for a disabled person to go up the first pathway up to the entrance of the park, let alone the rest of the park. Food and drink, while very expensive, is good, especiallythe pizza. The play area is lovely but I don't think it was worth the entrance fee, which adults pay for as well which adds to the price of the day out. The storyline was boring, the girl pretending to be a sprite had read it so many times she knew the words by heart, but it fels like she felt she was doing this for the...
Read moreI'll start by saying I thought the play area, the facilities and the extras like storytelling were all excellent. If you are coming here with multiple children per adult, it might be worth it. However, I came with 2 adults to one 6yo child. I paid almost £30 for a playground and a walk, due to charging almost the same for adults as they do for children and there is NOTHING for adults bar a few chairs, pizzas (which aren't cheap, not necessarily expensive, but certainly not cheap) and drinks. When booking we hoped there'd be a combined Stonor House and Tumblestone ticket. There was not. So yeah, £30 for my 6yo to play on a playground....an excellent playground yes (would recommend for 8-10yo optimally), but still, the surrounding area/villages has plenty of woodland walks and, not as good but free, playgrounds. Also their website has a 'times and prices' section with no actual times on it. Tl;dr Had high hopes,...
Read moreWay too expensive and after paying £60 (two adults / two kids) to go to what is just a very nice play park with admittedly fantastic toilets - we were told to eat our picnic in the car park (despite checking on the website that picnics were allowed). I wouldn’t go again. For that entrance fee we should at least be able to picnic inside the park instead of at the rickety tables on a very uncomfortable slope in the car park. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY FROM THE BUSINESS …… the designated picnic area is in the car park (we were explicitly told we could not use the tables alongside the visitor centre), on a fairly steep slope. It doesn’t matter how clear they make this on their website or signage, for £60 entry fee, one does expect a better picnic area that isn’t in the car park, on an uncomfortable slope, far from the play area (and outside of the the greater park /...
