This place is Masterpiece
First of all, Thank you to Teamsport for inviting us to try out the New Preston Track!
Me and Ami are from Eastleigh. We used Google maps to get there, it said it would take 3hours 45mins. Adding in traffic and driver swap it took us about 5hours. It was easy to find and Google took us straight there. This time we stayed in a Travelodge about 10 mins away from the track. The next day we left at 18.00 and got home at 21.50 so 3hours and 50mins to get home, obviously with clear roads and we didn't stop. All we could talk about on the way home was when we are going again! Yes, it was definitely worth travelling all the way up there to try the track.
The track looked amazing, plenty of space to overtake, the best bit of the whole track is the spiral over the three levels. Full acceleration and slightly turning left, hitting every apex to keep full speed on approaching the hairpin on the top level! The track was a little slippy downstairs but still enjoyable as it made it technical. We started the evening with 67s a lap and we got down to 65 seconds!
A BIG thank you to all the staff here, we had an amazing evening. Adam B, Rachel, Dayle, Jay, Smithy, Frazer, Tommy, Chloe, Aiden, Kez, Olivia, MJ and Rob. The staff were all on the ball, very friendly and extremely helpfully. We got there a little bit early so we could have a good look around the place before we headed out on track.
Rachel who is AGM of Preston. Who we meet before at Liverpool, showed us around the new track and is one of the best host in the company we have meet.
Once everyone had arrived we were introduced to our host for the evening, Tommy! He did a brilliant briefing. He always made sure we were ready and comfortable in our karts. Always ready with our timesheets when we come off track. He liked listening and wanting to learn more from everyone. Tommy was very positive, which is brilliant because everyone in our group was in a great mood! Which helped on track.
Normally a rare opportunity to talk to the mechanics as always busy fixing karts or tinkering away. Smithy and Frazer were really nice and have such a passion for karting. There the best people to talk to because they know exactly how to drive the track. Thank you both for the tips on the track. It really helped get those 65s.

We got to meet some the members from Warrington and Leeds. They are all nice, friendly people and quick! We can't wait to join them on their tracks in Grid member events to race them and learn how to get quicker around their tracks. If your down our way, let us know, we are very happy to come on track with any of the members we meet that evening!
We've already started planning on next visit! See you in...
Read moreVisited the team sport go karting at Bamber Bridge. I had never been go karting before so didn't know what to fully expect. You have to sign in first of all on a laptop, which took about 2 minutes (I assume this is in case you hurt yourself, they have your details) you get a choice of buying a 50p disposable balaclava or a £3.50 reusable one. I opted for the reusable one, as I could use it on my bike at home. You are given a full racing outfit which was ready to put on. We were then shown around and shown where the viewing areas were and most importantly the bar. Everything was really clean and had that new smell. The viewing areas had a few tables to sit at, but it was loud due to the staff testing the go karts, but it was fine as it was great to watch them skidding around the corners, to try and learn how to do it when it was my turn. There was a winners podium which was great for pictures. We then were told to wait for 10 minutes for the safety briefing, this felt like much longer, but I'm sure it was due to the excitement. Time for the safety video, we were lead away to a room upstairs to watch a simply 10 minute video about do's and don't's and to ask questions. And then, it was time to race. You pick the right sized helmet and gloves which were provided. I couldn't fasten my helmet but the staff were more than happy to help. You are told a number kart to get into and wait for further instructions. You do a quick start stop test and away you go. It was so amazing, it felt like you were going super fast, and with the track being new it was a little slippy but this made it better I thought as you were able to skid around the corners. There was about 10 of us on the track but it was fine as there was enough room to overtake. The track was a little short, I was managing on average a 35 second lap. However I did do 18 laps, so you do get your monies worth. Afterwards you get a race report, who came face, your fastest lap. Which was great to see, for bragging rights of course. In summary, the place was great, I would definitely go again, maybe try the other track as there was two. The staff there were very friendly and always happy to help which I think made the experience...
Read moreI am absolutely appalled and furious and will be contacting your CEO - how dare you ruin a young boys birthday celebration with no apology, empathy or care. My nephew is 14yrs old this weekend and had a booking with YOU tonight for 6.30pm for him and his two cousins. We had a confirmation email confirming the teenagers and my cousin arrived at your venue at 6.15pm as requested. Unfortunately due to ill health I was unable to attend and thank god for your sake I didn’t as I understand the 4 of them were left waiting for 1 and a half hours, staff didn’t have a clue what was going on, they were given boiler suits to wear and eventually had a rushed safety briefing, with approximately 35 other drivers at approx 7pm. All crammed into the small briefing room. Disgraceful. Then my 3 family members were asked to wait upstairs in the bar area to be called. No one came and spoke with them, they were told to look at the board for their names. At 7.30pm my family group had to go and ask what was going on and why they had still not been called to the track ONE HOUR AFTER THEIR BOOKING TIME she was told the bigger party was going on before them and they would now have to wait another 45 minutes - YES 8.15 pm before they could race. She explained that they had a table booked for his birthday dinner at 8pm which she had already pushed back. The kids were obviously starving and bored and the thought of waiting 2 hours past their booking time was of unacceptable so they had no choice but to leave. At this point you would think the staff would be falling over themselves apologising for ruining a young boys birthday celebrations- no not team karting, they told my family they could have a refund but would have to wait to speak to head office on Monday and that was it. Omg I have never been as cross and disgusted with an organisation as I am now. At the very least I expect a full explanation of this evening and the disrespectful, rude, unprofessional manner in which my young family members have...
