8.7.18.Its on the bus route but if you are coming by road trust your gps.I visited because its part of our history and quite atmospheric to visit places like these. The circle is of early Neolithic era, around 5,000 bc or older. There are a lot of ancient sites in the area and most need a car to visit them or expect a very long walk. The roads aren't pleasant to walk on here.A car hit my day pack as i leaned into a hedge so it wouldn't hit me.Walking to face oncoming traffic doesn't help if the driver doesn't want or can't see me.There is a dedicated bus stop for the Merry Maidens.Beware of traffic in this area. The stone circle is around the same age as Stonehenge in Wiltshire,a little smaller but worthy of your time.Free entry too.I visited by bus and there really is limited parking,a maximum of around four cars and the road is narrow.4x4's can barely pass each other but the site is one of the one's you...

I first visited these stones with my dad and brother over 30 years ago, so I decided to take my boys and wife here whilst we were in Cornwall. It is very nice to have a look at. It's not a place you will spend a long time at as there is nothing else other than the standing stones in a field. There may be walking trails nearby that whilst walking on you could also visit these stones but I'm not sure. We drove here one evening and it was a rainy day so we were able to park in the small layby and have a quick visit to the stones. There is a stone style to...

Great place to visit. Whatever you do don't touch all the stones. I walked around and touched each stone and then the heavens opened up. It poured down...lol. .I must have upset the ladies. Interesting story about this place. Though just a myth. Small car par area for about 5 cars. We didn't get to see the Pipers, Two tall stones that are on a farm where you need to get permission to visit. Other than that Interesting place. There were some offerings to the stones with black stones. You will see these in the...

We visited this stone circle on our recent trip to the West Country. It's in a very nice location in a field not far from the road and has extensive views around the surrounding countryside. It's a very peaceful place, well worth a visit. There are no facilities, which just adds to the atmosphere in my opinion. There is a small layby to park in right by the entrance to the field. Definitely stop and have a look if you're passing by.

Atmospheric and beautiful. Luckily we visited at the same time as a local tour, so listened in on the guide who was recounting the mythology. I particularly loved the story behind the two megaliths next to the circle. We went round and touched all the stones for luck. There was even a little mural in the very middle. Parking is very limited - only space for 3 or so cars by the roadside. But definitely worth visiting if you’re nearby!
