Great beautiful beach! You need to walk 30mins to get there, either from Porthgain or Aberiddi. Aberiddi walk is shorter and parking is normally not a problem but chargeable at £4 a day. Free parking in Porthgain but less likely you will get a space. No facilities at the beach but there is an ice cream van that serves hot / cold drinks and food based in Aberiddi. Porthgain has Bistro and Pub plus Harbour Lights Gallery. The beach can have strong currents so avoid going deep. Tide comes in quite quickly so be aware of getting cut off by the water on the far left or right from the steps; worst case you may need to scramble over rocks. Access the beach using steel steps from the cliff to beach. Due to acess and need to walk not advisable for...

Wow, wow, wow!! This was our third beach visit after Tenby and little haven, and was a magnificent walk around the headlands leading to it. Amongst our entourage ranged 9 kids from age 3 to granny. It's about a 20 minute walk from the car park by the blue lagoon (and that in itself is just stunning). Doable with little ones, even for not so good walkers with a little extra time. Definitely assistance needed down the steep metal stairs but so worth it. We were there during low tide so the stretch of wide sandy beach satisfied all aptitudes - swimming in the sea, body boarding, building sand castles, exploring in rock pools. We chose this spot because there was strong south westerly winds on the day and this was a little...

I’ve been going to this beach all my life, and it’s one of my favourite places in the world. It’s a half hour-ish walk from Porthgain, so it feels a little off the beaten path, but it’s really accessible (if you can handle the 100+ stairs from the cliff top to the beach). There are no facilities but it’s a great beach. Check the tide times before you go, when it’s high there’s very little room. Low tide leaves a huge expanse of beach for you. There’re a few rock pools, good for kids to look in. It can be quite choppy and has a pretty strong rip current sometimes. Don’t get right up against the bottom of the cliff as bits of...
