My parents are considering moving to the area, and we have booked a stay just down the road from the vineyard. During an evening stroll, we came across the vineyard, which we had been planning to visit as a family. The gates were open, and there were no visible signs indicating restrictions, so we walked in to check out the restaurant. As we got closer, we noticed the lights were on.

Suddenly, a man opened a door and shouted at us in a very rude manner, saying, “This is private property and we are closed.” It was myself, my sister, and my sister-in-law, with two babies. I was taken aback and shocked by the way he addressed us. I responded politely, “Oh, sorry, we just came to check out the restaurant,” to which he repeated, “This is private property and it is closed.”

I then asked if the restaurant would be open tomorrow, and he replied “Yep” before closing the door. Upon exiting the property, I checked the signage and noticed that nowhere was it clearly stated that visitors were not allowed to enter. Upon closer inspection, there was a sign behind the main one on the ground that said "Closed to the public today". Unfortunately, the sign was obviously not put out and displayed as it should have been, something which is not our fault.

We felt taken aback and unwelcome due to the manner in which we were addressed. A simple, polite explanation would have sufficed, something like: “Sorry We are actually closed today, but the restaurant will be open tomorrow. Please come back then.” Instead, being shouted at, its private property felt unnecessarily rude and unkind, especially to potential customers.

We wanted to share this experience because the interaction left us feeling upset, somewhere we had looked forward to visiting during our stay, is now a place we would not feel comfortable returning to. A more courteous approach would have reflected better on the vineyard...

Booked this week in advance of going. Arranged taxi's thinking that we the safest thing to do.Emailed to say it was a special 60th birthday. Booked the tour, tasting and food. We ordered all of the boards extra breads and the works as there was 6 of us. Absolutely disgusted with what we received.. There was two grapes, half of an apple, 3 pieces of salami and 3 pieces of prosciutto.... It was farcicle. We were so hungry and left with a sour taste in our mouths as it wasn't cheap. The tour was ok, then we had the wine tasting.. You won't get drunk on that, the measly amount your given is a joke. It was a complete waste of time and money. We'd e-mailed in advance to make it special, there was nothing done. Not even someone to say Happy birthday. It was memorable only due to the fact that we were so ripped off. Not worth it at all. The tour is the only saving grace. The "food" is a joke, eat...

Having mail ordered their wine for a while now, it was a delight to be able to visit. All the staff were lovely. Having been fortunate enough to have visited many wineries around the world, I was expecting an English winery to be a bitter disappoint. How wrong I was. The main building with its wrap around terrace overlooking the vines is superb. Well worth us dropping in, and would recommend the same for those visiting the area too. We will be back in October and we will be stopping by again. Oh..and having really only ordered their Pinot Noir fizz, we found the rest of the range to be lovely. I surprised myself and loved their red. English wine has come a long way from our first English vineyard visit 20years ago! Keep up the impressive work team Trevibban! PS. thanks for the understanding with our cute but...

Trevibban Mill Vineyard is a must visit place in Cornwall. It is a charming, relaxing and super friendly family run vineyard, with some fantastic views, really easy to drink wines and some superb tasting organic food. Our guided tour was led by the owner himself, a superb host with a great sense of humour and very light hearted approach. As part of your guided tour you also get to try 5 different wines, all for £15 per person! Absolutely recommend and will be definitely coming back next time I am in Cornwall. We ended up purchasing 4 bottles of wine from the wine tasting and their delicious hummus. 6 out of 5 stars!

Incredible wine. Wish I could have stayed and done a tasting but didn’t have time! The apple dessert wine and pink apple wine are super special, unique and absolutely delicious. Tried the dessert wine first during dinner at Barnabys and beelined as quickly as possible to the vineyard when it was open. Very reasonably priced and absolutely beautiful space. Excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Highly recommended and I’ll definitely return if nearby again otherwise I’ll be ordering online!

Lovely afternoon. Learnt a lot more about the journey of a grape. Saw the team of bottlers grafting and all with a smile. You get a real sense of teamwork here and everyone wants to be there and proud to work there. Cheese platter and hummus platter a real treat with the tasting. Great service from the owner and owner's son. A lovely way to spend our 30th Wedding Anniversary holiday week. For £15 well worth the time and effort. Look after the children in the tanks!! Thank you team.
