Harlyn Bay Beach — Attraction in St. Merryn

If you realise you forgot to pay, and try at the end of your stay to pay, tough: you will be fined. There is no mobile signal in most of the area so smartphone or telephone call options not an option. “some operators give 5–10 minutes under the British Parking Association’s (BPA) code of practice — but Alliance Parking is not BPA-approved, they are IPC-accredited, and the IPC rules only require a minimum grace period for leaving after paying — not for staying longer than booked.” In my view this is close to extortion and certainly meets criteria for a scam based on the number people getting...

A beautifully clean, dog friendly beach, perfect for swimming and surfing and exploring rock pools. There is a food outlet in the large car park serving burgers and chips and teas, coffee and soft drinks amongst other things and there are toilets near by. We paid £5 to park all day, it is a set rate, well worth it. The car park attendant has all those 'must have' items for a day at the beach such as buckets and spades and wind breaks. The car park is great for motor homes and campervans as well as cars. There is a place to hire surfing equipment and kayaks, prices seem reasonable. Lovely cliff top walks from the car park as well as direct access...

0* for the very rude man in the Kelly's Ice-cream van, didnt manage to catch his name. He charged us incorrectly and after he gave me the Icecream (v small scoop) I asked if he could swap it to a cone instead when i realised the tub was the same price...to which he refused buntly an said he 'can't'...not difficult to just put the scoop onto a cone 🤔

Advice: you'd be better off giving your money to an independent/family Ice-cream place when in Cornwall rather than to 'Kellys'

But not all is bad with Harlyn Bay beach I'd rate it 5* for the views and walk routee...stunning. SO blue...like...
