Trentham Treetop Adventures — Attraction in Stafford

Somewhat frustrating. Without waffling on, the safety 'sled' on the rope has no pulley or 'wheels' (like Go-Ape), so the rope gets frequently stuck on the metal cable due to friction when being pulled on or when cable kinks etc. You hence get 'pulled back' mid obstacle, taking the fun away. Quite a lot of strength and reaching up is required when the sled catches, making for a tiring and frustrating experience for younger and shorter participants. On-site facilities are also poor (single chemical toilet cubicle) and not many places to sit and watch if not participating. Without any affiliation or bias, would suggest the nearby Go-Ape at Birches Valley, Cannock Chase, is a much better experience, with junior and full high-wire courses, proper 'easy running' safety mechanisms, good toilets and cafe' (plus nice nature walks for all ages). Treetops is so much fun, the instructors take you on a practice section first to show you how to work your ropes to ensure your safety. My daughter was old/tall enough to go on but she was so nervous and scared the instructors were honest and said they didn't think she should participate in the full course as it is much higher than the practice course. The instructor is on the ground while your party are working through the treetops, my daughter stayed with the instructor and shouted encouragement. The instructor doesn't leave you at any time they talk you through the sections giving you tips and guidance throughout. I have been to similar things before but felt safest here even though I think the course is the most strenuous. The last drop is really gut wrenching but great buzz if you manage to jump...

Hi, We went to treetop adventure today! Firstly all the staff were super friendly answering all of our questions and helping us out! We had a family of 5 and 2 extremely nervous ! A HUGE shoutout to RAY!! This guy is a saint, he has endless patience and kept up the motivation and pushed us to complete the course, he had a great energy and made the whole experience awesome!! Ray was by far the best perfect and funny guide we could have asked for.. super encouraging and jokey! It was a perfect way to end of our summer holidays and we hope to come back very soon!
