Not Happy as a car enthusiast + Committee member for a major car brand!
We travelled x2 hrs from Hertfordshire! And thought I would take my daughters out for a look around the museums….
Poor Service received from a staff member at Jaguar museum and Heritage museum.
Upon arrival at Jaguar we had Nick approach us and rudely dashed outside before entering the building asking do you have tickets or annual pass ? I said no we haven't sorry. He said head over to the heritage site very Rudely and purchase tickets before entering Jaguar site! Nice !
The HALT Gesture outside the Jaguar building was quite Pathetic really!!
So I headed over to the Heritage site and was approached by another chap called Steve…. When Steve asked my daughters ages i confirmed it and he pointed out my daughter age 16 must pay an adult fee i said ok x3 adults then please thanks moments after before paying my eldest daughter mentions dad no fee is Child (5-16), £9, £10. - When we pointed this out Steve was very snappy stating she has to pay an adult fee and we simply said no she is 16 and can prove this….. In that moment we asked steve to read his own board again he did but mentioned no sorry ! Just i have to cancel everything and put it through again like it was our fault! Sad
Little this chaps know who I am in the classic world they just judged me by the Book Cover ! WHY?
I Will not be returning to the Museums but Yes I will be around for the Classic car meets outside the Visinity for the major x3 events we organise with Mercedes benz, Porsche club uk VW and forums.
Ps: I have visited the Museum before some years back with better and polite staff memebers.
All in all the museum is outdated with concept cars and classics no one envy!
Coffee shops Tea and hot chocolate was cold and but service was better from the women there thanks*
It’s the customers that pay for a good service and Experience so staff members must be at their best behaviour regardless of ‘Cover of...
Read moreMy husband dragged me here I was shocked … What an absolutely phenomenal visit! This museum is so much more than I expected.
The main exhibition hall is huge, bright, and beautifully laid out. You’re guided around in a natural flow with incredible displays of classic cars, prototypes, motorsport legends, and even film and TV favourites. Everywhere you turn there’s another wow moment, and each car seems to come with its own story.
One of the highlights for me was the Collections Centre across the way. Normally you’d never get to see these vehicles, but here you can wander around at your own pace, take a closer look, and even watch restoration work going on. It feels really special.
There’s a brilliant mix of iconic cars—royal vehicles, famous Jaguars, quirky little models, even FAB1 from Thunderbirds. It’s a trip down memory lane and a real celebration of British motoring heritage.
It isn’t just for car enthusiasts either. There are interactive displays, hands-on activities, and plenty for families and kids to enjoy. You could easily spend the whole day here and still find more to see on your next visit.
The whole place is spotless, well looked after, and easy to get around. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Parking was free and straightforward, and everything about the visit just felt smooth and welcoming. I even will remain married to my husband and will come again !!!!
For what you get, it’s great value—especially knowing you can come back again within the year if you book the right ticket.
In short, this is a must-visit. Whether you’re a petrolhead or just looking for a brilliant day out, the British Motor Museum is outstanding. I’ll...
Read moreI recently visited the British Motor Museum and had a fantastic time exploring everything it had to offer. The museum has an impressive and diverse collection of vehicles, ranging from classic family hatchbacks that spark a bit of nostalgia to rare concept cars and fascinating prototypes that show how far automotive design has come. It was a real treat to see the evolution of British motoring all under one roof.
One of the highlights of the visit was chatting with one of the museum’s volunteers, Brian. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, clearly passionate about the cars on display. What really stood out was how generous he was with his time—he kept talking with us and sharing stories even after his shift had officially ended, which made the whole experience feel even more personal and welcoming.
Brian also gave us a special look into the cars once used by Queen Elizabeth II and Margaret Thatcher. Being able to see these vehicles up close felt like a real privilege, and it added something extra to the visit that we hadn’t expected. It’s not every day you get a peek at that kind of automotive royalty.
Brian had a particular fondness for the MG MGF, and it was great hearing him talk about it with such enthusiasm. His insights gave me a whole new appreciation for the car and its place in British motoring history.
I’d also like to give a thank you to the other volunteer—whose name I didn’t catch—who spoke to us about the Jaguar E-Type. His passion and knowledge really stood out and added another great moment to the visit. Overall, the experience was not just informative but genuinely enjoyable, and I’d absolutely recommend the museum to anyone with even a passing...
