A good place for dog walking and shepherds. I would not recommend for family outings or for walks. There were faeces everywhere! Big faeces, small faeces, fresh faeces, decomposing faeces...There was a little path going through the hills but with the faeces problem, (it was like an obstacle course), we couldn't walk on it. So we had to face overgrown grass and stinging nettles. The most poo-free area is closest to the car park. There was only one bench. There was also a small car park that was very handy. We ended up having our picnic in the car!

Absolutely beautiful scenery! Good with older kids as they can roam freely, there is a gate all around so no worries about your child getting lost. Only downsides are: stinging nettles are everywhere and sheep poo. Haha it was dry so we weren’t too worried! Lovely breeze at the top and all in all a beautiful day out with the munchkins!!

Only a very short walk along crest of hill as away from crest extremely wet underfoot! Plenty of parking. Stunning views. Many well way marked walks including the Bunyan Trail. On a bright sunny day would be difficult to beat. A short walk away from the excellent Red Lion pub in Upper Sundon.

Short Hike at Sundon Hills Country park

Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3 out of 5 stars)

I recently visited Sundon Hills Country Park for a short hiking trip, and while it provided a decent place to stretch my legs, I found the experience to be less than inspiring.

As for the hiking trails, they were mostly through fields and over tractor paths, which lacked the diversity and natural beauty that I typically look for in a hiking destination. The trails were well-maintained, but the scenery was rather monotonous and not very stimulating.

Overall, if you're in the area and need a quick stop for a short hike, Sundon Hills Country Park is an adequate choice. However, don't expect a truly captivating or memorable experience. It's a decent place to stretch your legs and get some fresh air, but you might want to explore other options for a more inspiring...

Loved this place, went there with my doggie who thoroughly enjoyed herself. There are fields with sheep so you have to keep your dog's on the lead but once you've crossed them you can go in the woodland area and explore it. All of the evergreen trees have been marked for cutting but I do hope they don't do this as the beautiful woodland will be no more. There's a small free car...
