Enjoy a nice lakeside trail around Mercers Lake on this short walk in Redhill. There's a nice surfaced trail running round the water for just over a mile. Just to the west of the lake there's also two smaller lakes at Holmethorpe Lagoons, part of the Nutfield Marsh Nature Reserve. The reserve is a great place for wildlife watching with tufted duck, gadwall, little grebes, coot, moorhens and greylag geese to look out for on the water. The water is dangerous and someone died swimming alone in it recently but a great place if used properly. Fantastic walking tracks all around and fishing is allowed (by permit only) . There is some parking, a cafe and a pub (Thebinn on the pond) not far away and all within 2 mile walk from Redhill...
