I was hoping for a slightly better experience visiting here but left feeling a little disappointed. We came to possibly book a birthday party for our eldest son as he visited with his school and loved it. There is plenty of parking either near the sports cabin or a little further back up the track which is free. The cabin itself is starting to look a little unloved and rickety. The staff were generally friendly but were not very proactive when asking about part options etc. We have a 7 year old son who is too young for the general sports but there was no discussion on options to include him or his friends. We left feeling that we were inconveniencing them slightly. We took a leaflet and did the walk around the lake as the weather was nice for once. It's nice but really just a path for dog walkers as the remaining mess indicated. Upon returning the cafe was little more than a glorified tuck shop and they were holding a meeting in there making it look like a classroom. Considering its not cheap I'd expect a...
Read moreI have just completed my first kayaking course here. It was a fantastic experience. The instructor was Rebecca and she was wonderful. She gave clear instructions and explanations, she watched over the group carefully (we were all beginners ) she was encouraging and super friendly. I am usually rather nervous on water, but with Rebecca I felt very safe. Loan on the wetsuit, life jacket and helmet are included in the course price.

Thank you Rebecca for being such a...
Read moreThis review does not reflect the sailing. There is a path around the lake of which half is OK and the other half heavily rutted and full of mud. Adding to that there is a fence and scrub undergrowth between this public path and the water you could be forgiven for not knowing that there is a lake there. This place seriously lacks any interest or investment from the owners to make it a welcoming environment for the public. Abandoned and derelict fishing platforms add to the ambiance. Go and enjoy the sailing club it's a lovely place...
