Exeter Racecourse promises a day of excitement, equine elegance, and maybe even a flutter on the winner. My recent visit offered a rollercoaster of thrills and spills, leaving me with a mixed bag of memories. So, grab your fascinator and racecard, let's dissect the experience:
Winning Moments:
Spectacular Scenery: Nestled amidst rolling Devon hills, Exeter Racecourse boasts breathtaking panoramic views. Watching the horses thunder against the backdrop of lush greenery added a touch of magic to the experience. Thrilling Tackles: The races themselves were electrifying. The roar of the crowd, the jockey's skill, and the sheer power of the horses as they crossed the finish line sent shivers down my spine. It's raw energy and excitement distilled into a few minutes. Family Fun Fiesta: Beyond the races, the course offers entertainment for all ages. Live music, children's activities, and a variety of food stalls create a festive atmosphere and give everyone something to enjoy. Stumbles in the Stretch:
Pricey Paddock: Tickets and food can be quite expensive, especially for families. Offering more budget-friendly options or family packages could increase accessibility and affordability. Cloudy Confusion: Signage and information boards within the course can be unclear and confusing, especially for first-time visitors. Improved wayfinding and clearer information displays would enhance the experience. Queues Quagmire: Long queues for toilets, food, and betting counters can dampen the fun, especially during busy events. Addressing bottlenecks and streamlining these areas would significantly...

My husband is disabled and has difficulty walking very far unaided when we did get back in the car park we asked the lady collecting the money where the disabled parking was her response was you will have to find one as there was no designated parking for disabled or Blue badge holders. Not a very...
Read moreGreat Racecourse in a beautiful part of Devon, facilities were all good and easily reached. Courtesy bus back into town a good service, 9 miles away from the city. The only reason for 4 stars unfortunately, was lack of efficiency on bars, not organised, not staffed and very slow. The NO CASH TAKEN rule on a racecourse must surely be a jockey club excuse waaaaayyyyy after covid!! Very poor that this wasn't advertised anywhere. To a lot of people's surprise on Haldon Gold Cup Day to boot. Great days racing for a Tuesday and will definitely return, polite note, more staff needed, numbers at tracks are surely going to increase now that most people are more comfortable going out...
