I visited Ironbridge Museum a few weeks ago and have only recovered enough to share my story. As a 71 year old I thought I deserved more respect when spoken to however I must be wrong. Andy, the employee at the museum firstly commented on my lack of financial security when I asked about senior tickers and said ‘you’ve had all your life to stack bread bow come you need a cheaper ticket’. I was appalled. I said what did you say to me boy? He apologised.
Later on during this museum tour I noticed a bag of uneaten liquorice all sorts to which I helped myself only to see Andy had laid a trap for me and once I had grabbed the snack he put a large net over my head and kidnapped me.
He then proceeded to force me to watch shark boy and lava girl 4 times and then recite the words back to him , he then put me on display in the museum as the worlds ‘most smelly welly elly belly jelly man’ After this awful event Andy made me eat a baby raw, and I have only just recovered from the illness it gave me
Overall I would recommend The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust Head Office to anyone who wants to visit as...
Read moreThis would have been a 5 star review except for one element. The museum is very interesting. The displays and information are beautifully laid out and easy to follow. I understand that there has been a major refurb recently. I didn't see the original but I really like the current lay out. The old blast furnace is a piece of world history and as such deserves preservation. Plenty of parking and knowledgeable friendly staff. The one down side. Limited opening hours. We arrived at 2.15 anticipating a couple of hours visit to find that, due to government cuts in public services the museum closed at 3. This is not meant to be a comment about government cuts but it is worth mentioning that visitors can not assume that the museum will be open during normal hours and need to check opening times. Our visit was rushed and consequently compromised. I would recommend the museum with...
Read moreIt had been 15+yrs since we last visited and we weren’t disappointed. The historic museum (booking) building was really interesting, Enginuity was as much fun as we had remembered. New to us was the display based on space/ earth creation / how stars form and how the earth is made up iron, this was really cool and very unusual - well worth visiting. The resturant stood out, it was clean tastefully presented and in one word BrillianT. All Staff so friendly and caring, nothing was too much trouble, great and strong teamwork with a smile on their faces. They made you feel as if you were important and they wanted to please you. Compliments to the chef & kitchen support for such deliciously hot flavoured food and the fantastic menu on offer. Good work to you all. Teamwork Makes...
