The staff involved in the activities are absolutely amazing! All willing to help whenever they can. Every activity I found to be so fun! Caving was brilliant, my knees are now covered in bruises 🤣 a great laugh though. Bikes are great fun. I didn't realise how little leg strength I had 🤣. Turns out 2 laps around is my limit 🤣. Mini golf is what you expect. Just some simple fun for all the family. The playground I'd say is brilliant for little ones and the older ones. My daughter is 4 so wants to go into the big kid area. I wouldn't advice her age to go on the big climbing frame alone. It's just a little to risky for her age and she isn't big enough to climb up to the top alone without being lifted up. Luckily the park was empty when we went due to the rain so I went on it with her and she had an amazing time. Online on either the blaenau gwent Facebook, aneurin bevan or bryn bach Facebook page they often advertise free activities or other activities that cost a small fee. These are great and I recommend keeping an eye out and regularly checking these as they are so fun. Pond dipping was especially amazing for my daughter.
The only part I think needs improving is the cafe. It looks amazing and is very clean. Hot drinks are fine aswell. However the food isn't the best. Bread never buttered, ask for a cheese and onion sandwich and it has dry sliced cheese a few tiny bit of onion and no salad. Doesn't come with anything either. It was so dry so i recomend if you order a sandwhich with dry fillings to order an extra drink and take advantage of the sauces on the side and use one to butter the bread with to give it a bit of moisture. Most cafes if you order a panini or sandwich also come with a salad and crisps. I had a jacket potatoe with tuna mayo which was ok but the salad that came with was very sad looking with wilted lettuce and the potatoe skin on half the potatoe was so hard you cojldnt cut it with the little wooden knives provided. The chips are OK though. I ordered a side of them for the table to share and no complaints were made over them. Staff aren't the happiest in the cafe either 😅
Next time we go we will take a picnic and just order a hot drink. Because the park is so incredible that we won't let the food effect our day there. Its a...
Read moreThe lake itself is beautiful and the surrounding areas. Good activities throughout the year can't fault it. When you've been walking round the lake for an hour or more and your cold all you need is a tea or coffee. But when it came to getting a coffee from the cafe. SHOCKING..!!! Not very good service at all. In the cafe they have two kiosks one for drinks and one for food and hot drinks. My friends daughter wanted a cold drink so we went to the drinks kiosk and ordered one cold drink and a tea and coffee, and was told we would have to go the other side and order the hot drink's. Which meant paying for the cold drink there they wouldn't take payment via the card it has to be over 5 pounds. So we queued the other side for about 25 minutes or so by which time her daughter had finished her drink. Ordered our drinks couldn't pay by card again still under 5 pounds. If we had bought all the drinks together could've paid with a card would've made it a lot easier. So just a suggestion have the one kiosk cold and hot drinks. The other food and hot drinks I think it's a no-brainer...! The queue would Half because there were other people in the queue just waiting for a tea or coffee they were...
Read moreGreat walk, but now we go other places. So many other sites and parks welcome dogs off leads - My wife was followed by two men when she was on her own around the golf course.... no one else about and she was extremely scared and threatened as thought they were following her.... they were - but only to give her a fine for our little Pomeranian being off the lead... a small fluffy dog.... £100!!!! Yes - £100!!! We always pick up his mess and put in correct bins - this place is not geared up for dogs to have freedom to run. I know lots of other people including ourselves who now go to other parks which welcome dogs off leads and are dog orientated. Not fair on dogs being on leads all time. Even if round the golf course on outskirts dogs were allowed loose.... Such a shame as brynbach park could be a lot busier! we also used to go there camping too with the vw meets but us and other vw users are now avoiding this place... plus try and find the cafe open! So, to sum up - if you want a place where you can’t let your dog loose (unless you want to be followed and pay £100), you can’t get food and you want to walk in geese poo then this is the...
