I visited here for a relatives birthday. The staff were all friendly and very good with the kids. The menu featured all the pub classics you'd expect (with the exception of the challenge which none of our party dared to take on) I ordered a classic Cod and chips but there was no Cod available, so I opted for the Plaice, which was a good sized potion and very nice. The kids meals were a good size potion and came with a drink and a dessert for just £3 which I thought was very good value. We were the only people at the pub on a Tuesday night. I would visit again but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.

Really enjoyed a mixed grill at lunchtime! Perfectly cooked, tender steak, gammon, large lamb chop and sausage with chips and peas followed by the most lush, home made waffle with ice cream (to die for) and white chocolate sauce! Had an added surprise of 20% the bill during September! Everything is reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, welcoming and attentive and the Covid safety measures that were in place were exceptional. They really have gone above and beyond to keep everyone safe! No one could do better! Will most definitely be back soon for my waffle fix! 😋🤣 Thank you all! Stay safe! 🌈

Stunning bit of steak! 35oz demolished in just under 25 minutes! 2 ladies behind the bar are lovely and bubbly. The deserts look stunning but having a bowl of salad after the steak and chips with fried onions on top the more I thought of the cake the fuller I felt. Will definitely be visiting again 100% should set up like a loyalty card or a app and more points u make up have free dessert or drink. Bit cold inside but the heating was up full

I had the mixed grill The food was horrible 😫 the oil The chips were cooked in taste horrible the sausage was cheap jumbo sausage you get better in a chip shop doesn't say much lol was told that the stake was 4oz lol very very small more like 2oz 2 bight gammon wasn't cooked right if cooked properly the fat rind is the tastes bit wasn't cooked but the gammon was thin and chewy! Same thing with the pork!! A very amateur cooked food definitely would not eat there again 😫🤢🤮 and to your reply that was a lie I was not rude to your staff she asked me if everything was OK and I said that it wasn't really that I didn't enjoy the food at all ! And said that I hadn't eaten the sauce only because I had forgotten about it! And asked about what type of cooking oil The chips were cooked in because they didn't taste very nice and said that I'm sorry that I wouldn't normally say anything but the food was that bad I thought that I had to be honest with her and said that I no she didn't cook it but I had to be honest with her ! AND I GAVE 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️FOR SERVICE AND THE STAF WERE FRIENDLY ! SO TOTALLY LIE ABOUT ME BEING RUDE! Why would i have given 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️wish I would have read more of the reviews before I went there were one mentioned that the only thing worth having is the dessert ! And a lot of other complaints from others!! What you said is a lie ! And doesn't add up to me giving the staff a 5 for service if I said sorry but if I'm honest I didn't enjoy the food at all being rude I'm sorry she took it personally! But the service was the only thing that I couldn't fault !!! So definitely wasn't rude And the...

Had a Christmas Fayre Meal last night (14/12/13), nine in our group and we all enjoyed our meals The quantity and quality were well above average and i even ate the sprouts which i haven't done since my grandmother used to tell me to eat all my greens. One very small criticism, bigger plates please.Eight of us had even been allowed to order Prawn cocktails "off menu" so id say nothing was to much trouble for Thelma. Tables were well laid for the season. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially Rhiannon who made my night with her cheerful way and attentive service. The apple pie and custard was delicious and id say homemade, you don't get that from a frozen food supplier, same for the veg. High quality Christmas crackers for a pub, well done. Parking wasn't as easy as our last visit as they were so busy, so go early. One of the best Christmas meals and night out we've had for some years which is why ive decided to give Credit where Credit is due.My dogs thank you for taking the trouble to foil wrap some of the leftovers. Those who may have read and been swayed against going to this lovely pub, should give it a try, otherwise your missing out.Thank you form me and my family.See...

Although I have frequented this place regularly and enjoy the food, on Saturday 02 March 2024 we were dopped off punctually by our taxi at 2.45 outside as usual, which is our regular time on a saturday when we visit the pub which for many a year opens at midday without fail as advertised. We were told by the owner, yes I know the owner, that we was not allowed to enter until 3pm because cleaning has not taken place. We asked could we come in and take a seat, any seat and not move until all was ready because it was sleeting/raining and freezing outside, which she declined. There was also a party of 10 children waiting outside in the elements with balloons, cards and a cake and no concessions were made to them even though knowing the interior layout all could be seated safely while the continuous late cleaning was going on. I will not be visiting this place as I have done so, so very regularly, so many times in the past and I urge other customers to take this review into consideration. As this if far below acceptable 'hospitality' especially where the children, cake birthday balloons and harsh weather were taken into...
