I went to the Abba tribute night. First time ever to the Ponte races. The weather was horrendous. I would love someone to answer some questions for me please. ▪Why, when the premier stand costs more, are you not allowed to take a few drinks with you. Anywhere else you could, but not the Premier. ▪After the fiasco that was Billy Ocean night, I thought you would have made some improvements. One of the comments from that evening was why were you not allowed to take drinks outside in the undercover seats. Your response was that it should have been ok. The room upstairs was packed and hot and sticky. We tried to go out with 2 glasses of wine. We were not allowed. I asked why and security said it was to stop people spilling drinks down people when they got excited. Well my friend had a drink spilled all down her lovely new dress, inside, because it was too full. The bar downstairs was so uncomfortably humid and sticky. The prices extortionate, the house wine was not good. The cider was warm. For that privilege we paid £24 and stood in the rain watching the races with our drinks. The Abba tribute band was good. We enjoyed that. That is why I gave 3 stars. Left to get our taxi and my friend sprained her ankle walking down the unlit driveway. No staff to help us. This doesnt happen at other racecourses, infact in premier, you are treated very...

I really want to give more stars, if it wasn't for the extortionate bar prices mixed with cider that hasn't had the pipes cleaned (the smell of the drink told the story) it would be 5, been a couple of times recently, first time the bar ran out of Guiness and Fosters by the 2nd race!!!. Free parking unlike £5 at ripp off Doncaster. The racing is good with great views and plenty of places to view the action, there are places to eat and sit upstairs. The paddock views are good and there is a competitive market for betting. One of the better tracks for WC facilities (Read this Beverley) really want to give a higher rating but the main bar is the weakness. Litter pickers (Redcar read this) are active There was a band on last night, i went to gamble so wasn't that bothered and only had to pay the normal entrance fee £17 unlike Doncaster where you have to pay maybe £50 whether you stay to watch the music or just go for the racing. Maybe i should give 5...

Had a directors box for a birthday celebration. The box was fine and the staff very helpful however I have concerns regarding the quality and quantity of the food provided for the price paid. The mains were of average quality and there was enough of the buffet available. The chips were eaten quickly as there was not enough provided -- the staff member went to get some more and that was the last time we heard about an further portions. If you asked for a drink that they did not have then we waited an hour for it to arrive. The worst part was the desserts with some of our group not getting one. What a joke!!!!!! My wife and I went without. The server went to see where the missing desserts were but apparently they had all been sent to another room for their celebration. I'm glad they were having a great time. Would not return ever again -- the price for a couple of pieces of pork...

Went here to celebrate 25 yrs since our first date and we were looked after by all the staff who couldn't have done any more for us if they tried. When we arrived there was a card and bottle of prosecco on our table from the staff which was a lovely gesture. Food was spot on on arrival you got tea and biscuits then a 3 course meal to have as and when you wanted it then afternoon tea was served. All other staff that took us and looked after us in the parade and winners enclosures were so friendly and made you feel special. If you want to have a great day at the races with wonderful staff I highly recommend Pontefract Racecourse.

What a lovely racecourse! It was like stepping in to a little village with a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. Having never been to a racecourse before, I was impressed by the intimacy of the place where you could see the horses in the paddock both before and after the race. Staff were on hand to offer help and were genuinely pleased to see you. I can only highly recommend a visit and look forward to coming again very soon.

Amazing venue, easy to navigate around and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff and great turnout for a weekday meeting. Pizza in the paddock cafe was amazing and the pizza served was delicious! Brilliant day of racing with a few big names around, so lots of excitement and a great day overall! Horses were given lots of water and were very well cared for, lovely to see lots of devoted stable staff as usual!
