It's name is Aberavon! The seafront and beach has a lot to commend it. Several cafés, wide sandy beach, wide well-kept promenade with grass areas, and walking and cycling sections as well as clean free toilets. Even parking on the road is free for two hours if you can find space. The whole area seems clean too, so the council are obviously active. I guess the only thing to spoil it it is the view of the Port Talbot steelworks at one end and occasionally, if the wind is blowing from the south east (not usual) a slight 'wiff' in the air. We went on a scorching day and it wasn't packed at all, plenty of space to run around and build sandcastles..
