An absolute delight of a find: a beautiful and peaceful setting in the Welsh countryside 🙂 St. Brynach's is the Parish church covering Nevern, Pembrokeshire and it's surrounding villages. Believed to be on the route of the ancient pilgrimage to St. David's, this church is associated with the earliest of Church history in these islands, with parts believed to date from the 6th Century AD ..... it's official founding period. Meaning to come here for a while, I read about this in the Pilgrims trail book I have. Such a peaceful and beautiful looking Church and graveyard, as they should be. Left for nature, Yew trees present and fascinating history for the area. We completed a trail as recommended by the church. Die St. Brynach’s Church in Nevern ist ein magischer Ort - 600 Jahre alte Eiben, verwitterte Grabsteine und das Keltische Kreuz mit den Symbolen der Ewigkeit.

Die Ursprünge der St. Brynach’s Church gehen auf das 6. Jahrhundert zurück, als der Heilige Brynach in der Region lebte und predigte und eine wichtige Rolle bei der Christianisierung von Wales spielte. Die heutige Kirche wurde jedoch größtenteils im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut und weist architektonische Merkmale aus der normannischen Zeit auf. Später wurden im 15. Jahrhundert weitere Erweiterungen und Renovierungen vorgenommen, wodurch die Kirche gotische Elemente erhielt. Der Innenraum der Kirche ist schlicht und spiegelt die traditionelle Architektur mittelalterlicher walisischer Kirchen wider.
