Steep climb down from Rhossili, 3mile walk along the beach from Llangennith! Take your pick. Beautiful beach from either end. What's left of the Helvetia is at the east end of the beach with Worms Head as a backdrop. Wreck is exposed at low tide and visible up to high tide. Wonderful area if you like your photography .. particularly for sunsets. A stroll along the beach is very pleasant and can be as long as you wish up to 3miles. Backed by a narrow shingle bed which itself backs onto a narrow belt of dunes (plenty of signs of dune erosion so keep an eye on the kiddies). Beach is also very well known for surfing. With prevailing winds coming in from the S West some awesome waves can develop .. brilliant to see if you venture out during a storm! The headland at Rhossili is also a major attraction and can be viewed from beach level, along with Worms Head. Climbing back up from the beach gives you access to local amenities e.g. Pub, cafes , church, sunflower fields in summer, Gypsy Vanner ponies which graze freely along the headland, coastguard station, long cliff walks along the wonderful Gower coastline and amazing views in all directions. I love it and visit regularly .. I think you will too...

Quite a steep hill from the National Trust car park (£5per day) to the beach but definitely worth the short stroll. Lovely views on the walk down the hill and a chance to snap some pictures of the long sandy beach at Rhossili boasting a gentle gradient into the sea and sand dunes and cliffs. You can walk quite far out to sea without it getting too deep. Not much of the wreck left but still very interesting to explore. The wreck nearest the rocks may have crabs in the pools at its base if you look carefully, we were lucky enough to find some. Explored some small caves watched some rock climbers scaling mermaids wall and enjoyed a walk around the rocks in the sea around the base of wormhead. Plenty of room on this beach I don't imagine it gets overcrowded, we visited here at summer solstice weekend where it was busy but plenty of room for ball...

This is a beautiful place! Huge expanse of sandy beach, with a headland beside it. There is pleanty of parking. Which is pay at a ticket machine. There are toilets and pub and shop. Only down side is, there is a long steep walk from the car park, down to the beach. Or, if thats not for you, you can walk down to the headland on a good well made wide path. Everywhere is clean. Everywhere you look is a beautiful view! The tide goes out a long way, but the whole beach is flat lovely sand. I thoroughly recommend this beach, but it is better if you are more mobile. You can't reach the beach by wheelchair, I dont think there's another route, other than the steep, long stepped, mainly, concreted path. However the route to the head land is wheelchair friendly, and a wonderful view of the bay all the way....

Its the free place to visit and the view was stunning even with gray clouds. Best place to visit and spend some time on the beach. If you visit the place by public bus then last bus will take off at 7:10 so be ready by then otherwise there is no buses till morning 10:00 and there are only 2 buses which will be available all day bus no 118 & 119. Have plan prepared before going there because you won’t find many vegetarian options there but you can have some food at cafes and yes also have ice cream up there in the clouds it feels amazing. Less crowded beach with stunning views of sea and clean water.

Stunning place to visit. Long walk down to the wreck on the beach so bring plenty of food, drink etc and spend the time wander g along the 3 mile stretch of beach. The wreck comes out the sand like a skeleton and makes for fabulous photos. At different times of the year the light gives it an even spookier look. Plenty of parking up the top in the National trust carpark £5 for the she day or free for NT members. Plenty of lovely cafe's and a pub over looking the beach below. If you don't fancy the walk down to the wreck you can wander along the cliff tops, well worth the view.
