Ah, Rhossili and the South Gower Coast – just the name conjures up images of breathtaking beauty! Our recent drive down there was, as always, a treat in itself, and finding ample parking made for a smooth start to our day. The Worms Head Hotel, with its legendary views, was our chosen spot for a classic fish and chips lunch. While the fish might have been a tad oily, honestly, gazing out at that iconic causeway stretching out into the sea made any minor culinary imperfection utterly irrelevant. That vista is simply soul-stirring. Our wander took us through the stunning landscape, and the highlight had to be the sight of the Gower ponies, now with their adorable new foals! Their gentle curiosity as they approached us was such a heartwarming experience. I did have a little pang of regret at forgetting apples – they certainly would have been appreciated! While the allure of walking across to Worms Head was strong, the thought of the return journey, especially after soaking in the beauty of the beach below, felt a little ambitious given the gradient. That beach, though, is truly spectacular – the kind of place that etches itself into your memory. And no trip to Rhossili is complete without a stop at Joe's Ice Cream! That creamy delight was the perfect ending to a truly wonderful day. Rhossili and the South Gower Coast aren't just a place; they're an experience. The dramatic cliffs, the sweeping bay, the friendly wildlife, and those unforgettable views combine to create a sense of peace and awe. It's a place that rejuvenates the spirit, and we left feeling utterly refreshed and already looking forward to our next visit. If you're seeking natural beauty that truly captivates, look no further than this...
Read moreI’m comparing now and this place in 2020. Then, when we visited for the first time, everything looked amazing even though it was very busy. But this year, 11.08.22 it was pretty miserable. Let’s start with a car park, it’s very spacious, they have different fees for different types of cars, we had a suv and paid £6 for a whole day, which is amazing, because the choice is 2h or a whole day fee. We arrived around 11am, was many spaces available. Car park guy approached us, told us where to pay, even though you can see it when you enter. No toilets around, which is fair enough, wouldn’t want to go to one but from the minus side, just by going out from the car park, two people were already peeing on the sides. Sunflower field which was free in 2020 now is £3 pp. There’s a downside to it, Sunflowers in this heat are very sad. Leaves are down, loads of dead ones, you would expect them to water them but no. However, if you don’t count sad flowers, views are gorgeous. Even if busy, you don’t feel that many people around and you can always walk a bit further to be alone. Right by the entrance they sell very delicious ice cream with many flavours. So two stars are pretty much because of the peeing people everywhere you go and because they make this place as a money attraction rather than amazing park. Cheers...
Read moreWe recently spent a day at Rhossili Bay and honestly, it was one of the most memorable highlights of our trip to South Wales. As a couple who loves scenic getaways and quiet escapes, this place ticked every box.
From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sheer beauty of the view — a vast stretch of golden sand curving gracefully beneath dramatic green cliffs. The walk down to the beach was a bit steep in parts, but completely worth it once we reached the shoreline. It felt like we had stepped into a postcard.
We took our time strolling along the beach, collecting shells and listening to the sound of the waves. There were only a few people around, which made it feel incredibly peaceful and romantic. If you enjoy photography, this place is a dream — especially at sunset, when the sky turns into a canvas of soft pinks and oranges.
We also ventured out to Worm’s Head at low tide, which was adventurous and fun — just make sure to check the tide times! The walk across was rocky but exciting, and the views from there were...
