Read moreA sheltered bay providing a sheltered anchorage and beach for those who park and walk round the bay. As part of the Jurassic coast the geology and scenery is spectacular but some parts of the cliff at the back of the bay are loose and Winter storms bring down rockfalls. The parking is quite expensive but not if you are staying all day and being so famous you need to get here early. Or you can walk over from the Durdle Door side if you are staying there in the caravan park. No too steep a path in either direction. Chalk pebbles form the beach to a swimmable sea. There is an interesting local museum and plenty of alternatives for lunch, snacks or ice cream. There is a hotel locally for those who want to stay more than a day.
