Very nice place to visit. The gardens are really nice and well maintained. It's a peaceful and spacious. Ideal to go and relax and take in the views over the bay towards Portland. There is a nice refreshments kiosk on site where you can buy food and drink. Not unreasonably priced and very nice quality. I could quite easily sit here with a good book and chill out for a couple of hours. Well worth a visit but don't plan a day out here it's nice to visit but there isn't enough here to warrant a whole day out but you could go on to the beach just along the road for a beach day if the weather is good enough.

The gardener has done a fantastic job on this garden, the only downside is the café, the price's are a bit over the top, nearly £13:00 for 2 pastys and 2 drinks. Sorry but I won't be going back. Noticed today (22/02/22) Male came out wiped down 4 table's same cloth no spray, might as well not bothered.

Lovely spot to relax, beautiful we'll keep gardens with a little cafe and a castle ruin, views across Portland harbour where there are always plenty of water sports going on to watch, on road parking only but there always seems to be a space available.

The pond as been drained & cleared out, said there was a leak, pond now filled with water again, Alot of water lilys have been put in to each of the 4 pots, should only be one to a pot or they won't flower also they spread very fast, there was a lot of weed in the pond for the hundreds of fish to hide from the seagulls but now there's no weed or fish. Maybe the gulls have all ready had the fish, seems they can't get anyone to do a job properly, always cowboys. Pond could do With 3 or 4 Inches of good top soil and 3 or 4 types of weed planted in it it keeps pond clean supplies air food cover, The cafe is open today, used to be a public toilet, maybe people don't need toilets these days just coffee but where does the coffee go if there's no toilet to put it, a pie cost me nearly £5 at the cafe wouldn't of got if I known it was that much, the wooded steps that lead down to beach fell apart in the1980s & were never replaced, wooden bridge been closed for years as it's falling apart, the metal gates to gardens have long gone, castle as been fenced up for good, used to be a golf course (putting) by the the castle & a man in a shed to take the money for golf ball and stick. it's all so run down where's all the council tax go to, in back...

A hidden gem so don't tell anyone! But this is one of our favourite places in Weymouth and a short walk from our house so we go a lot. The gardens and castle ruins(no longer accessible inside) are maintained by the local authority. The flowers beds and lawned areas are always stunning and the fish pond is a lovely interesting feature. One of the highlights however is the cafe kiosk run by Sam & family. Always a friendly welcome and serves fantastic coffees, ice-creams, sweet items and savory snacks. There is quite a lot of seating available but if busy the lawns are fantastic for a picnic. Superb views over Portland harbour and a lovely area for children to play as there are lots of open spaces and hiding places. It's just the most...
