Beautiful place wonderful wild life. Seriously packed, parking was really pure monotony with never ending queuing as was the same in the cafe. On the plus side the....... cafe was......... naghhhhh not on my watch. As I stood at the back of the que I observed a gentleman making enquiries into the golf with the staff on enquiries. As he asked, the staff cut him short and advise him that there are score cards with information yet he has no idea regarding what was available golf wise. It suddenly dawned on me that the redundant golf balls on the table were clean for a reason. The gentleman left and looked royally teed off. Let's see the cafe is overcrowded and people waiting genuinely appeared ready to leave or eat there own footwear. The floor was filthy and the tables clean, yet appear so clutched together that there is a fear that ones elbow may end up in Someone's lunch. The kitchen is far to small for the staff who are lovely. However observing them working within it I honestly felt sorry for them. If they were tinned sardines then they would have been perfectly at home. The food is the usual ubiquitous fare which disappoints as it arrives in an overzealous deforestation packaging. Upon reflection perhaps the packaging would have had more texture and flavour. The juxtaposition between the lovely trees around the lake and the rainforest recking packaging is not lost as my conscience is pranged by it. All in all the place is in need of a serious re think, the name flash is quite befitting were the cafe is concerned. After sitting and observing eventually I was...

Sadly Wigan Council has withdrawn the car park from the blue badge scheme meaning that blue badge holders have to pay despite it being a council run car park and not private. £2.50 is a reasonable price for parking all day and for the upkeep, however I feel that people that are able to park on the street and walk can avoid the £2.50 fee, when people with reduced mobility are not.
Plenty of benches to sit along the paths. Mostly wheelchair accessible except paths are not...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePennington Flash is a lovely spot for anyone who enjoys nature and peaceful outdoor walks. The lake itself is beautiful and spacious, with plenty of scenic views that change with the light and weather, making it a great place to relax or take photos. Itās also home to an impressive variety of wildlife ā you can often see swans, ducks, and even rare birds if youāre lucky, which makes it a popular place for birdwatchers. The walking paths are well-kept and easy to follow, suitable for both casual strolls and longer walks, and there are benches along the way to sit and enjoy the view. Overall, Pennington Flash has a calm, natural charm that makes it a perfect escape from...
