Great place to visit. Good for fishing,walking , dog walking.cycling or just to feed the ducks. There's a ranger hut on site ,various activities are on during the year. Some are free some have a nominal charge. During autumn time they organise bat walks (pre book) they provide an expert and the bat detectors and brought a bat along too. Really good for bringing kids . Free outdoor play area. Free parking and there's s couple of car park one near main lake and one about 1 minutes walk away if busy. So many walks to criss cross your way around, easy paths, many suitable for prams/wheelchairs, plenty places to sit and contemplate, even picnic. There is an enclosed playground, bird feeding station to sit and look on, there is a hide, not always open as run by volunteers, nature reserve, wetlands, woods, interactive 'things of interest'.... there is a cafe that closes early, so check out times to avoid disappointment (dogs outside, but there is a covered area) some small business huts selling their wares... ...

We checked before leaving our car to see if there was anything to say 'no parking' but there wasnt and a white van was there also. We have discovered since this carpark belongs to race track. They should display notification of this fact saying private or something. Fortunately for us a volunteer worker had a key that fit and was able to let us out. We had our 2 young grandchildren (2 &6) with us so it was no joke and spoilt...
