Easy to find, free parking until the 1st March and a haven for dog walkers; alas not all responsible ones. It's about a mile walk along the beach from the car park at Climping beach to the crossing point of the Arun on the outskirts of Littlehampton.

A pleasant walk but sadly spoilt by dog mess, and not just small amounts either. I don't know whether it's because the dog owners feel that the mess is going to be washed away by the tide or whether they're simply lazy. But having seen several dogs fouling the 🏖 beach and then watch the owners simply walk on, it's probably the latter. There were plenty of bins at the car park, shame the 'minority' (and I do stress minority) of irresponsible dog walkers didn't use them. It amazed me that some dog walkers had used 'poo bags' but just left them on the sea wall, yards from a nearby dedicated bin. The local Arun Council need to sort it out. I stopped short of posting a 'pooey' 📸.

Parking regulations and sign posting are awful. Prior to our journey I looked up online about the parking arrangements for Climping beach- all sources said it is card only, thus, I didn’t not bring cash. When arriving at the beach, the rude parking usher informed us that their WiFi was down therefore payment was cash only. After asking where else we could park they said “just park over there with the other cars” this was the road outside the car park where others and campervans were parking. There was confusing signs all over that road regarding parking. Some parts of the road you could park others you could not but there was no road markings or bays- just a mix of signs. We parked went to the beach and when we returned we were issued a ticket. Considering the amount you have to pay (£10 for over an hour) you think they’d put that money to better signage, a ticket machine that didn’t require WiFi and generally a nicer non-potholey car...

I was looking for a dog friendly beach in the South East and this was our closest choice and it didn't disappoint. We arrived early so not many people around. £1.50 per hour or £5 all day parking with choices of car park - dogs off lead or dogs on lead. Toilets are open and cleaned regularly which is great. We had a lovely long walk along the mainly pebble beach which was quiet then headed back for breakfast. There's an outdoor cafe in the main car park. You order at the hatch and they bring your food out. We ordered an all day breakfast and a veggie breakfast, plus coffees. Great breakfasts with gorgeous doorstep wedges of toast! Our order got mixed up and we got 2 all day breakfasts but they couldn't have been more apologetic about the mix up and exchanged it straight away and also gave us a muffin each as an apology! Fabulous service, very friendly and great food. Highly...

A lovely beach that's not that well known and as a consequence it doesn't tend to get too crowded on the whole. The beach at high tide is mainly pebbles, and has suffered in recent years with severe storm damage that has eroded plenty of the beach and path. As the tide goes out, plenty of sand becomes exposed and the shallow water makes it a popular destination for younger families. As beaches go these days, it's pretty clean at the moment and hopefully that will continue. It's dog friendly as well and it is possible to walk both ways along the coast. There aren't many bins in the car park and it's best to probably think ahead and bring a black sack to take your rubbish away with you. There's a car park and small cafe, that shuts at 2pm weekdays, but will cater for most families that visit. There's an adjacent toilet block as well.

Pretty bleak, even on a nice day. Within seconds of getting out your car, the lady from the cafe will be there with a pen noting your number plate and charging you £2 per hour parking. The beach is in an awful condition, covered in debris and broken concrete and the dykes are falling to pieces. At least there are signs explaining the state of disrepair. The further east you go, the better it gets. But by that point you may as well just go straight to Littlehampton west and skip Climping altogether.
