Not a very experienced rider but this is currently my favorite trail system within an hour of the heart of Atlanta. The trails are very well marked. They are clearly made primarily for mountain bikers, and each trail that I rode (Rusty bucket, Mason's bridge, and one more on the other side of the main parking lot) were all directional. Hikers are the only trail-goers you have to watch out for.
In addition, there is a good amount of variety in the internediate skill set and plenty of trail to get you a good workout without having to ride anything twice. Each trail notes it's length in miles. The atmosphere there is also remarkable. Outside of one access trail, the greenery was lush. Lots of ferns, a few creek beds, and even some open fields. Overall very satisfied and will be back again.
Be careful of two things: trails may be closed during rain and also be on the lookout for cross country meets during the early weekend mornings. I barely missed one when I went on a Saturday. Parking would've been...
Read moreHey, this is my home trail. ACP (Toona) is awesome with over 22 miles of trail as of today (much more is coming). Anyhow, from the Stilesboro lot you have three choices. Go across the road and you're on Turtle Back. Turtle can be ridden without the extension or of course with it. Without you have a fairly easy smooth ride and with it you add some climbing (not much at Toona though) and some great skill sections. Mumbo/Voodoo are straight across the lot from the bathrooms. Mumbo is short and has some hills (I mainly use it to get to Voodoo :) ) but many really like it. It is fast and fun to lap. Voodoo of course is the best in the area. Look up some videos I placed online and see... it is not a beginner trail. And that leaves us with Rusty/Mason's (with Mo-Flo in between). Fun for the miles and some interesting things. Mo-Flo is a smallish downhill trial and is fun for many who like that...
Read moreIt's so lucky to have such an awesome bike park in the area. There are plenty of trails here for all levels of riders. If you are a hiker there's also lots of options and for the most part people are really good in this park about yielding to bikers and riding/hiking the correct way on the trails. The trails are well maintained and after heavy rains they usually don't stay closed longer than a day or two. It can get pretty crowded on weekends and weekdays after work and school time but it's a large enough park you can find trails further from the lot with less people. There's also a good amount of wildlife here which is always nice to see. I've seen deer, turtles, snakes, and other woodland creatures. There are also public restrooms at the...
