The sea was rough the day we visited so we didn’t stay long. The area itself is beautiful. Parking close by enough for 5 cars. It is very secluded with no amenities so you must come prepared. That means backpacking or carrying coolers with beverages and food if you plan to spend the day. Arrive very early if you want to get a decent parking space otherwise be prepared to walk (I heard up to 40 minutes when busy) I recommend wearing shoes and not just flip flops. There is a rough flight of stairs to tackle upon your arrival to the beach area then a rocky climb down to the beach. Once there, you can access other hidden beaches (not easily if you’re carrying a heavy cooler) If you like adventure this is the place to go! The water is this gorgeous blue. We went on a weekday and left right around rush hour. The traffic was stop and go and it took way too long to get out. Very discouraging so definitely leave before, or way later. To arrive to the beach you must go through narrow roads and darling neighborhoods- houses are new and well maintained. Make sure you have a way to navigate otherwise you’ll never find it! When we told the locals about it, many had never heard of it! Please be respectful of the people who live right next to the...
Read moreAbsolutely beautiful and peaceful. It’s a hidden gem with stunning views, crystal clear water, and a rugged natural vibe that makes it feel like your own private paradise. The waves were calm during my visit, and the water was perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
The beach itself is tucked away and not overly crowded, which makes it ideal if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. The rock formations around the area give it a unique look, and the contrast between the turquoise water and white sand is picture perfect.
There’s not much in terms of facilities no bathrooms or food vendors so I recommend bringing everything you need for the day (snacks, water, sunscreen, etc.). But if you’re prepared, you’re in for a peaceful escape with one of the most scenic beach settings in Puerto Rico.
Whether you’re looking to relax, explore the coastline, or take some amazing photos, Peña Blanca is definitely...
Read moreHurricane Maria obliterated most of the beach and rocky outcroppings, but there is a piece left. If you go the mountain route on the right side, you'll see nothing. The hurricane stripped all the sand and took a bite out of the mountain. There's just dirt and trees now. It's a nice view though. The beach that's left is on the land route down below on the left side. You can't access it from the mountains. The water is still as clear as glass. Puerto Rico has a lot of beaches with clear water, but this water is CLEAR. I've heard there's a waterfall. I don't know if it's still there. There's no restrooms and you should probably visit very early in the morning so that you can get a parking space. Navigate carefully because the roads are somewhat mountainous and narrow. That's part of the appeal - it's called "The Secret Beach" because it's...
