We stopped at the North Augusta Welcome Center as we crossed into South Carolina, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming — you could tell they genuinely enjoy helping travelers.
The restrooms were spotless, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and there were plenty of brochures, maps, and travel guides for all kinds of interests. Whether you’re into beaches, history, or nature, they’ve got you covered.

Read moreWe needed to stop and stretch our legs after driving, this was a great place to stop. Clean restrooms, vending machines, even lottery tickets for sale. But most importantly the lady historian truly impressed us with her knowledge of the history of the S. C. area and she definitely knew all about the civil war and proceeded to enlighten us with stories about the war and some of the places the battle's took place.
