Palazzio Event Center — Attraction in Alamo

First off this is one of the most elegant , detailed ,upscale ,visually enticing ballroom I have ever been to here in the RGV. I will say that. However, unfortunately , there is a major downfall. We went there last weekend and some of the staff was just completely awful. The two with a badge were even worse . Grumpy ,upset and just plain uninviting . They were extremely rude with the kids and with some of the adult guests . Many mentioned same scenarios , so it wasn’t just us noticing or experiencing it . Next ,The kids playroom - they charge $5 a head just to enter !! Wow !! That’s just greedy to me .. and to top it off the woman in there “ watching “ the kids ( the fee I’m assuming ) was on her phone the entire time . I know because many parents walked in to check on them. The kids themselves also said she was very rude , so they eventually left . Bottom line - beautiful and Over the top decorated venue , just the right size ( not big) but some of the staff really needs to be reminded the party attendees are just as important to uphold the party/evening continuity . The handling of the party’s stress should be able to be handled more professionally since this is what the ballroom does on a daily basis. This place really is absolutely gorgeous , it just needs a few better servicing / more professional and positive...

The venue is extremely beautiful, the food and cake were great, I loved that. I gave it 2 stars because of the service from waiters and the AC seemed to not be working, it was hot since we arrived. The waiters were all rude, I had to ask several times for the drink and the food, after the dinner time was over, I told the waiter we had been asking for the food and they never served us, he did come back after asking the third time and he served us. One waiter (short young man) he was the worst of all, when we told him our daughter wanted an adult plate he said in Spanish “well, you asked for a child plate and that’s what you got, it’s already served” he smirked and left. One of my nieces was never served. When the event was over and the guests weren’t leaving (this was 10 minutes after the event finished), one of the men started telling us to leave or they would charge an extra hour. All these comments of course are understandable but they need a lot of training on how to talk professionally and be nicer to the guests. Too bad the service needs major improvement. Amazing venue! I had my DREAM wedding here! Everything about it is beautiful and the people are very attentive day of. The wedding coordinator was amazing!!

Here are some ”I wish I had known” things after my wedding: if you don’t verbally tell them you want them to save your cake they throw it. As a consequence after the busy night, the remaining cake was thrown, as was my custom cake topper, and my pala y Cuchillo which were also very elegant so that was extremely upsetting and sad i can’t freeze my top tier or give out cake for those people who are coming over even after the wedding with gifts! Also they threw out my USB with my video photo sideshow that they showed during dinner. So basically have a person remember all these little things for you cause they don’t just...
