We had a wonderful excursion with Alaska 360. This was an excursion booked through our Norwegian cruise. We were met right at port by our WONDERFUL tour guide, Tumbleweed. We were then taken on a bus through a partial tour of Skagway and then arrived at Dredge Town. We got to learn about the Iditarod, see the dogs run, and hold puppiesssssss. They were so cute. It was a very informative session with an experienced Iditarod runner. Peter and Therese were our guides. After that, we moved through Dredge town where we panned for gold and were then given a tour of the town and a talk about all the historical elements as well. People, don't get cocky, gold panning was HARD. After that, we got back on the bus, rode back to town, and got on the White Pass Railroad. By FAR my favorite part of my entire trip in Alaska. The three-hour train ride was full of the most beautiful views and Tumbleweed provided awesome anecdotes, facts, and things to know along the way. When we reached the top, we toasted to our journey, and headed back down. When I think back on my cruise to Alaska, I will definitely remember this the most. Tumbleweed was an AWESOME tour guide. Very genuine, caring, and overall fun. (Killer mustache and outfit too). You could tell Tumbleweed loves what he does and cares about your experience. We were blown away to find out it was only his third time on the train providing narration. He was a NATURAL. Highly recommend Alaska 360 and...

My family and fiancee had a great time visiting Alaska360's Dredge Town as part of our shore excursion (Gold Fever & Sled Dogs) on the Norwegian Encore. Slim Pickins was hilarious and gave us a great demo of panning for gold, and the other staff did a great job helping us out when it came time to do it for ourselves. They have a nice museum-like facility and the tour explained a lot about the Klondike Gold Rush and its impact on Alaska's history and economics. Of course the highlight for me was seeing the sled dogs and a professional musher who talked about his Iditarod racing and preparation. Also, it was good to see how happy and healthy the dogs were, and being able to see them run and for us to interact with them was a really unique and special experience for us.

We had a little issue after we left Dredge Town and contacted customer support. Angela got back promptly and really went above and beyond in resolving our issue. Thank you so much to Angela and the whole team for hosting a fun experience for us all and helping preserve our memories!

The only thing is that I wish I had more time at the end to explore on my own and read some of the information on signs explaining the old equipment. I guess that's the downside of shore excursions in general. But overall it was a great memorable experience, and we'd definitely look forward to coming back next time we...

I was unaware of the amazing scenery and beautiful views this excursion held! The train ride was a one of a kind experience with a very vintage yet still safe feeling to it that made me feel assured that I would be safe while heading in the behemoth sized mountains. I must say the tour guide who goes by the name of Christian also known “Max glacier” did a phenomenal job explaining the views we saw on the train and was determined to make sure his tourist group was comfortable and having a great time like I most definitely did myself. Christian also made sure that he had everyone which even meant he counted everyone twice to assure he had everyone in his group and continue with the tour. All around I was very impressed by everyone that worked there from the bus driver to the amazing lady who showed us all of the very interesting facts about dog sledding. The person who stood out the most to me out of everyone though was Christian, I’ve been on many tours with many tour guides and I strongly believe he was the best of all because of his great communication skills and knowledge of many things ranging from the history of Alaska to even the science behind everything. If I had to redo an excursion from my trip to Alaska it would most definitely be...

Quirky little stop featuring a number of entertainment options. The Dredge Town includes the opportunity to pan for real gold. I suspect that they seed the so-called 'pay dirt' but it was fun and genuine non-the-less. No one leaves without striking it 'rich'! Our host Batty Betty was wonderful and quite the character. For the Gold Rush, Nugget our host was equally quaint and informative. This was a fun activity for kids and adults. This site also includes a sled dog kennel as well. Our host Therese Bartlett (real name) was very informative and of course we saw all the equipment need to run the Iditarod including the dogs. We got to 'meet' on of the dogs, watch them connect up to a sled and then run. What amazed me the most was that the dogs get really excited and love to run. Then at the very end, we got to meet the next generation of Iditarod champions, the puppies. This was a a very fun experience. Definitely recommend this stop.

4.5/5 Excursion – Gold panning and dog sledding tour Max was fun and so was the tour, as mentioned you go back in time and learn about Skagway’s history in gold panning and dog sledding. It was one of the hottest days and I have to say- remember to dress accordingly, ughh it was hot and there was a lot of walking and waiting and watching, with that in mind I think this place should build more seats. I noticed a lot of older folks taking this tour (Well it’s a cruise and most older folks take the Alaskan cruise rather than head to the Bahamas or Mexico), they can’t stand 3.5 hours. You only get to sit in the beginning, the bus ride and back to the dock. Learning and actually meeting an Iditarod musher was really interesting, the pups were the cutest but they were 9-12 months and wanted to nibble on everything! The cookies were good oh and the panning came in clutch, $30 worth of gold! Do it, hopefully they add more seats for people!
