A beautiful garden that serves as an educational and art installation venue as well. They offer plant sales and have a gift shop for garden lovers too. Membership for a family of four is only $75 for the year. A fantastic value considering they operate throughout the year. If you have any doubts about the varieties of plants, vegetables and flowers that can thrive in Alaska this is a great place to visit. The showcase gardens that celebrate local species as well. The trails wind through the property and adjoin a longer walk outside in the Campbell area system. Another fun program they offer are picnics in the park during the summer catered by South restaurant. Their website is great and you are able to reserve spots for all of the programs and classes conveniently online.

Read moreWe had such a delightful time together, walking on the garden paths and exploring the gardens! So much beauty and color to see everywhere you look! Peonies, those stunning beauties and my personal favorite, are showcasing their blooms, encouraging visits from bees 🐝 happy to oblige! While still other varieties of peonies are just thinking about budding. Many Star Gazers are out, as are the delicate and colorful Columbine. The ever magnificent Chocolate Lilies would not go unnoticed! So much vibrancy and greenery here! This was my first time exploring the gardens at this time of year mid June. Many flower buds teasing you with their promise of full bloom, and tempting you to return and discover their beauty in within several weeks!

Read moreI love plants, so this is my kind of place to go to. I was just visiting in Alaska and curious about what can grow in Anchorage. I was in for a nice surprise, the plants were nicely arranged and healthy looking. I was about a week too early for many to have blooms, but they were getting there. The employees were great. There were several working on fixing a couple of the flower beds (weeding and putting in a few new plants) and they were very happy to answer our questions regarding the plants, i felt like this was a real labor of love for them.
