The costal trail is huge, it literally goes around Anchorage. The trail is amazing, very photogenic and a great work out. A little word of warning, The costal trail, in an area, is filled with moose and as you may know in spring moose mate and moose are very protective of their young and WILL freak-out and attack you or chase you off. Read moreVery close to downtown (so close to bike rentals). Some hills are a good work out but mostly flat. Nice mountain bike trails connected to this paved trail. Nice view of the Turnagain Arm, especially low tide when the mud flat is exposed. Half way point you can see huge planes landing close by, quite a unique experience. Lots of mosquitoes if you stop in the woody/leafy part of the trail, but not so bad if by the sea. The best park is it rarely cross traffic so you can have a continuous ride/walk/run without worrying about cars...
