My husband and I hiked the whole loop and honestly it was not very enjoyable. The bridge on the south end was closed and by early august when we hiked it 75% of the path is waaaay overgrown and very narrow. Its also very rooty so while you have spectacular scenery around you, you can't really enjoy it because you are looking straight down the whole time. There are many wetland areas with small boardwalks that can be very slick and also have grass growing over them that is shoulder and head high. There were 2 points on the trail that we weren't sure which way to go because it was so grown over. We managed to get across the closed bridge which was very sketchy at best and shortly there after came across very fresh bear poop. We were prepared with spray but once again ended up in chest high tall grass and a path you can barely see so it was a little unnerving at that point. Read moreWe stopped by on a rainy day for a hike, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The lake looked beautiful even on a foggy lake. There were people fishing and kayaking even in the rain. The trails are well marked - though the mosquitoes are numerous and fierce, able to get to you through a rain jacket! So be prepared.
There are lots of different places to park. There are public restrooms, and maps for the trails with clear markings.

It was pouring when we arrived in August so couldn’t explore all the trails but did spot some sock eyed salmon and soaked in the stunning views of the lake. Be careful and watch for wildlife. Recommend you to carry bear spray and prepare for the weather. There’s a nice campground as well with clean restrooms and water supply....
