I stayed here before heading up Kesugi Ridge in Denali State Park on a Boy Scouts High Adventure in late June of 2017. The facilities were nice and the water was clean. The potholes didn't seem like a major problem in a car but be careful and watchful if using a trailer. Some of the water pumps were broken on the first stay but when we returned five days later they had already fixed the problem. Read moreMay 20, 2020. Campground is open. RV area is closed. Lots of dead Beatle killed trees down everywhere. Road is nicely paved but there's a little snow and ice still in some areas..we had no problem with a pickup and travel trailer. There's a huge pile of spruce firewood for campfires from the Beatles work. Lake is frozen still. Not much room for an RV in regular parking. Bathrooms are open. Read moreByers Lake is our favorite campground, off the Parks Hwy, heading north towards Denali. The campsites are nice. There are lots of hiking trails to explore around the lake and beyond. Boating on the lake is fun. We were there in May over Memorial weekend, and the camp host position was not filled yet, and there was still a little ice on parts of the lake.
