Our Ketchikan duck tour was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our fantastic tour guide Stacey and our skilled driver Miguel. From start to finish, their enthusiasm and knowledge truly made the tour exceptional. Stacey was incredibly engaging and informative, sharing a wealth of fascinating facts about Ketchikan’s history, culture, and wildlife. Her passion for the area was evident, and she had a wonderful way of making each story come alive. Stacey’s warm personality and genuine interest in ensuring we had a great time added a special touch to the tour. Miguel, our driver, expertly navigated the unique amphibious vehicle, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable ride both on land and water. His driving skills were top-notch, and he provided a sense of safety and comfort throughout the tour. A delightful surprise was learning about Stacey and Miguel’s backgrounds. Stacey, hailing from Texas, and Miguel, originally from Puerto Rico, brought a wonderful mix of cultures to the tour. They both sported fabulous cowboy boots, adding a charming and personal touch to their appearance. Their stories of coming to Alaska for the summer and their shared love for adventure added a deeper connection to the experience. Together, Stacey and Miguel created a tour that was not only informative but also incredibly fun and memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure everyone on board had a fantastic time, pointing out hidden gems and offering insider tips for making the most of our visit to Ketchikan. If you’re looking for a tour that combines rich local knowledge, skilled driving, and a personal touch, I wholeheartedly recommend the Ketchikan duck tour with Stacey and Miguel. Their dedication and passion made our trip truly special, and we left with wonderful memories and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and history of Ketchikan. Thank you, Stacey and Miguel, for an amazing experience!

The Ketchikan Duck Tour is an Historic City and Harbor Tour, all in one. The 90-minute tour starts in town, going past several notable sites, which are narrated and explained by the tour guide. You’ll ride aboard the new redesigned Amphibian Duck Boat, which is an improvement from the 1940’s era vehicles, which were used in the beginning. After the town portion of the tour, the boat drives right into the Tongass Narrows, where one learns about the fishing fleet, and how to recognize which type, and the history of the Ketchikan International Airport. There is no food aboard, and no restrooms. Use the restrooms at the Tourist Information Building, and eat elsewhere. One will need to be able to climb a short ladder, 9 rungs, to board the Duck, and the captain and guide are available to help. Mobility devices are stored safely off the Duck boat, and are returned to the boarding ladder at the end of the trip. The seating area is covered and has clear plastic sides for viewing and photo ops, in case of rain. Dress warmly as if you were outside. Bring your camera!

Captain Mike and Garret were AMAZING! They were both very funny and knowledgeable! We have always wanted to do a duck tour and we decided to this in Ketchikan. We did book ahead of time , so I do suggest doing that . I would book directly with them and not though the cruise line. If you are on a RC ship, you just get off at the port and they pick up and drop off right there! Captain Mike was able to point out some harbor seals he had been watching for a few days. We saw so many eagles flying around. That was cool to see! The amount of seaplanes taking off and landing while you are in the water is amazing! We had a great time! I would defiantly recommend this with Captain Mike and Garrett! And buy the $4 duck whistle it will quack you up all night! :0)

The first part was fun and informative with Keith and Kessa showing the historical sites in a funny and engaging way. Unfortunately they sold duck whistles halfway through and the kids would not stop blowing them for 20 minutes while we were trying to enjoy the sites. Be warned you’ll want to bring ear plugs or headphones after the halfway point. I would’ve ultimately rather stayed on the cruise ship than pay for the expensive headache I received. I wouldn’t have taken the time to review but they asked us to provide online feedback since they’re a small company. Hopefully they’ll learn and start selling the whistles at the end instead but I recommend preparing yourself just in case.

Stacy and captain Tony were awesome!! In addition to how entertained I personally was and how cool Stacy is in general, we saw a humpback whale named Phoenix bubble feeding!!! She also takes care and focus as well as remembers what matters. I love when great customer service is met with exceptional knowledge, the personality is a plus. Captain Tony also was a smooth driver, sailor, also knowledgeable of the ocean and rules. They were great together. Thank you for the exceptional and rare experience!!

We took the duck boat tour today with Captain Rodney and tour guide Garrett. We were glad that they took time to get everyone situated, and they went over safety instructions. It's a very interesting combination of scenic beauty, a drive through the Town of Ketchikan, and a history lesson. The only drawback is the plexiglass windows. They are cloudy with seasalt spray, so it makes viewing slightly obstructed. There are openings though, where you can take some photos. We recommend this excursion.
