Point Woronzof is the place to be. You can watch the planes come in (they fly right over your head) and watch the tourists who don't read the signs about unstable bluffs, take pictures of themselves on the unstable bluffs. It's a hodgepodge of craziness from the tourists and the sane of the locals who are just trying to walk along the beach and do the trails. My particular favorite is watching the tourists try to figure out how to open the bear proof trash cans. Always a crowd favorite. That and them thinking that the signs about walking on the mud flats (DON'T DO IT!) are just all hyperbole. Point Woronzof Overlook offers an incredible view of a distant Downtown Anchorage, Fire Island, and the bottom of airplanes landing into Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
The path down to the water is mostly paved until it turns to rock, so please be careful if you need a solid ground. If you do walk down to the water you'll notice the bright highlighter colors of spray paint all over the place. I'm not sure if this is considered art or vandalism.

This is the best place for moose viewing I’m not sure if they just enjoy the white noise of the airplanes taking off or the wind to shoo mosquitos but they love it back here.
