This is an amazing spot to take a walk with a friend, lover, your kids...amazing sites from parking or walking the beach. Beach is a pebble beach made up of many of Alaskas natural gem stones, including carnelian, jade, chalcedony, quartz and sea glass. As well as others I have less knowledge of. The views from the parking lot of susitna and at time Denali will capture your breath! Sunset proves to bewilder me everytime I take the short drive. Also consider there is a ton of jet plane noises that can be heard as well as felt when planes are landing and taking off depending on the wind patterns. Being such a short ride from Anchorage midtown, I take my children here once a month in the least, the ocean washes away our stresses and we forage a few new treasures! Also a quick mention there are times when a few food trucks will visit the lot on the weekend and oh boy do we know food...
