The north side of the park called the "small dog area" (not sure if it's an area for small dogs or a small area for any dogs?)is fine with lots of room to run. However, it seems like the majority of dog owners prefer the larger area to the south which isn't fully enclosed. There is enough of a natural boundary to deter most dogs from running off, but the real issue is "the river" that borders the property. The water is absolutely foul and mucky. My dog came out smelling like petroleum and it took 3 good washes to get rid of the odor. While well behaved dogs don't seem to typically venture off the gravel path, a fair number do go explore. I can't imagine why anyone would want to have their dog play in the nasty river. For that reason, we only use the "small dog area." My chocolate lab isn't exactly small so I get plenty of side eye from others when utilizing the area. Luckily, we often have the entire thing to ourselves. It could be a really good dog park if there were better options for medium to large dogs who need to be enclosed...

After several trips, I have only heard of one "argument" between the dogs at the park (and one Moose).
It is cleaner than any other Dog Park we have ever been at, I used to avoid going to Dog Parks because of the filth in the past, but this one is great.
From Frenchies to my Boerboel (South African Mastiff), everyone has been friendly on the "Big Dog" side.
There is a small dog area if the larger dogs intimidate you or your pup. But after a couple of visits, you'll end up with the "Big Dogs" because they have too much fun, and all the room run and chase.
(But there is a stream on the right when entering. That water can get funky, I try to leash before getting too close on...
Read morePlease note there are two sides to this dog park: the smaller side (right side gate from the parking lot) is for dogs under 25 pounds. The larger side is for all sizes. This is one of the few places in Anchorage (and maybe the only?) where my 8-pound dog can play. Today two parties entered with a total of three 100+ pound dogs and despite my telling them it was for small dogs they stayed. There's a lovely area for your dogs (much nicer than the small dog area) and yet they chose to use the under 25 pound side. Please don't be that person.
This park has both walking trails and a large, enclosed field for off-leash play. Really clean...
